The Battlefield 4 Beta went live for the rest of the world today (non-Premium/Pre-Order folks). For anyone interested on PC you can get the Beta through Origin: Battlefield 4 BetaIf you have an nvidia card it is HIGHLY recommended that you download the Beta drivers. I have downloaded them and had no issues in rFactor in last night's race but I take no responsibility if it F's up your PC. You can download the 331.40 Beta drivers HereCheers!

How is this game looking and when is the release date ? I've been looking for a fps I need a release for when I get into a driving rut Is it easy to set up with a Xbox controller all playable buttons can be mapped ? I've been contemplating bf4 or cod ghosts...I know bf4 is more tactical and strategic....as opposed to the run n gun mindless cod but like I said it will just be a release from not driving a few days here and there....I liked bf3 but found it very difficult to get kills which lead to not a lot of play time.....and having only a slightly faster 670 will it be able to run it on triples?

Its a more polished BF3 (using a new engine) and release date is October 29th though you can try out the Beta right now.
I would imagine you can set up a controller though I use my G13 Gamepad and Mouse. You can fully customize the key bindings.
Battlefield is more tactical only if you are working in a squad and a team that knows what they are doing, otherwise trying to Lone Wolf it will be an exercise in frustration as you constantly get mowed down. I only play Conquest (Infantry, Tanks, Helos, etc with 64 players) so I'm used to having massive play areas and integrating all the elements in play.
I'm running triples with my 660ti though I'm running it on low settings right now (they haven't fully optimized Win7) but give it a whirl and see for yourself.
Hope that helps a bit.
Cheers!

got it all set up pretty fun but i suck lol....still got to get my buttons mapped correctly. I can set it to med on triples and seems pretty decent. probably best to put it to low not sure how to bring my fps counter up? overall looks and sounds pretty impressive!

To check your framerate:
Press the ~ character and it will bring up a console.
Type in: perfoverlay.drawfps 1
Press Enter
Press the ~ character and it will close the console.
Framerates are now displayed upper right corner of the screen.
Cheers!

Fraps actually has some overhead to it and adds frames to the overall equation so better to use the in game tool if you want an accurate count.

I notice when scrolling through origin they have 3 or 4 versions of bf4 for pre order available....what's the difference and which is the best bang for your buck ? Pre order gets you an extra map at release....does the higher priced version cover dlc for a yr?

The base game is like $60 then you add a Premium Membership for another $50. The Premium membership gets you early access to all the expansion packs before anyone else, weekly goodies and that is about it. IF and ONLY if you are a BF addict like me would I consider the Premium upgrade.
The crew that I play with are all super hardcore BF fans so its pretty much a given I ordered that.
