Kelly and I are proud and excited to announce the upcoming Blancpain GBR Championship. The two of us have been busy planning and think you'll like the final product. Between now and the start of the season we will be holding a couple of exhibitions to get us all ready and test settings. Details on those events will be out really soon so check this space. Start thinking about a car selection and paint schemes as we will support a custom skin pack. Feel free to discuss the mod, season, etc. in this thread. See you on the track!!

Thanks, Tony. And thanks to Jason for letting us run with this series. I know he likes this mod very much and was just too busy focusing on the V8 series to run both properly. The first exhibition announcement should be up tonight!

This will run on Wednesdays opposite the V8 series. I'm 95% sure we'll keep this on the rF1 version for the first season. Many guys here aren't on rF2 yet and, more importantly, quality tracks are still being worked on. I'll be testing the rF2 update soon but it would have to be much better than rF1 for us to move to it for Season 1.

The last practice/exhibition session I was at nobody was running any BMWs or MBs. That had a lot to do w/ my decision. It was either that or the Porsche (big surprise there).

Yeah, you missed the second exhibition I think. I ran the MB and I thought someone ran the Z4. I would run the Lambo but I am quicker in the MB.
BTW - I will start a car selection thread later on but feel free to post here, as Chris did, if you already know. I will transfer it over.
Give it some thought since we'd like drivers to lock in to their choice for the season for consistency's sake. Thanks!

I am in on this for sure. I will probably stick with the McLaren.

I have been doing all he track testing in a BMW and it's been a blast.
I will drive whatever is left over after everyone has signed up and picked their cars.

Since Chris started the trend, I'll follow suit.
I've grown partial to and will stick with the Ferrari 458 Italia - #64 Black Bull Swiss Racing. If I get a chance to do a custom skin or con someone else to doing it for me (Seahawks Livery), I'd like to reserve #12 as well.

I'll be driving a MP4 or a BMW or a Ferrari or a Porsche. I like them all, need more time to figure it out.
I think I will run a Ferrari as I have never raced one before.
My pick, Pro-Am, Ferrari 458, Insight Racing #17, Custom skin #16, If I can figure out how to paint it.

You may want to claim a stock car and # till the painters figure out the templates. I only glanced at one and it had all kinds of small parts to paint, as well as the body. So it might take a bit to figure out where they all wind up. As I said, I only glanced at it. It may be simpler then it looks.

Good point, Dan. If you are going to run a custom skin, please give the number of the base car and the custom number. I'd like to not repeat base numbers because of pit stall sharing.
Also, we have a couple of months before the actual season starts and you are more than welcome to drive whatever you want and multiple cars during exhibitions. If you know already, that's fine too. I am not going to play with painting the skins myself until we are done with the planning and testing. I am also going to provide links that I have found with additional skins (you can google and find them as well) in case you want a different skin but can't paint.
One thing to consider is painting the window file to reduce the windshield banner depth. I find that some of the cars have terrible line-of-sight because of the banner. Maybe just making them translucent is enough.
If any painters out there want to volunteer their services, please speak up!
