Awesome races last night. First race was pretty uneventful for me. Kept it clean and came home in 3rd after Nick had a dispute with the pit entry line.
Second race had a great scrap w/ Hawks for the first half of the race until pit stops. I made a pass for the lead at No Name Straight after he ran a little wide into the dirt on the exit of the Esses. I opted for a 1 stop strategy, knowing I was going to be a sitting duck in the last couple laps. But knowing I didn't have the outright pace for Jeff & Nick, I had to roll the dice and try a different strategy if I wanted any chance for an upset. When Jeff was leaving the pits after his second stop and I was heading down the front straight, I knew it was only a matter of time before he caught me. Sure enough, with about 6 laps to go, he was able to block me behind Ed at Big Bend and took over the lead. From there it was just watching the gap back to 3rd.
Still more than happy with a 2nd place. My best finish since my upset victory at the Autumn Ring exhibition race after season 1.

last night's racing was a blast. The tail of the field had some good racing going on until the aliens at the ESSES took their toll. Objective was to keep it on the track. Well, almost. Enjoyed Chris's "Tactics and Racecraft". Sorry I was at the wrong place at the wrong time and was used as a "pick". Just trying to stay out of the leaders way.

I wasn't able to be there last night but in general there's no reason to apologize for that. Maintain your line and let the chips fall where they may. I'll tell you, there's few things better than fighting with another car for several laps then sticking it to him like that. I've had a few battles with Jeff and Jason where I was grinning after using a lapped car to execute a pass. It's just one of those skill/luck things that randomizes things in racing.

Seems like everyone has quickly adapted to not using aides. Didn't seem to be any major issues because of it and will also level the playing field for the upcoming season. Really looking forward to it.
A question was brought up about the number of allowed restarts. I'm open to suggestions on this topic.

I also had a blast. As for the number of restarts, I think 2 tops for dumbassities and whatever is nessesary for Computer related problems. CTD, force feedback issues etc. Dumnassities: Forgetting to put it in gear and getting rammed from behind. divebombing turn one and causing greif, Not getting to the start line before the green flag. you get the idea.

I was a little worried about no assists since i was using low traction control, but I didn't have any problems adjusting to no TC. I think it is a good thing and will make us all better drivers because of it.

(No TCS)I don't know about better drivers, but it is a lot more enjoyable once you get it down.
As for restarts, I've always used a 3 restart maximum in my series, but sometimes I'll do a fourth if the restart buggers someones FFB. Except on Saturday nights were some including myself may have been drinking, then it's pretty much whatever, after all, it is Saturday night.

I was surprisingly okay w/o TCS (never ran ABS). I'm glad it will be off for the season.
On the restarts - touchy topic. Hard to make it a limit to satisfy everyone. I had no issue on Wednesday...we restarted, and I didn't have FFB for the restart, lol. I've gotten into somewhat of a habit of checking for FFB while waiting on the grid but forgot on the restart since it worked fine seconds prior.
Race one last year is a perfect example at how things could go sour fast. As you restart, others start to have issues and you may chase them for a while. I think you've done a good job using your judgment and that's how it should proceed.
Restarts should also be for technical problems. Wrecks happen and if someone ruins someone else's race by unsavory driving, it should be dealt with a grid penalty for the following race. Just my opinion of course. Like I mentioned above you've done fine to now.

After long thought and a cooling off period, I realized Jason has always tried to use good judgement in calling them. Personally, I try and let dice lay as they fall, that's racing, unless it is a technical issue. Besides take away restarts and I would have nothing to bitch about what could of been. Maybe restarts even help loosen up the field. I only ask that we keep it fun. I'm with whatever the boss decides.

In DRM to keep things moving since we were running 3 races, I allowed 1 restart for accidents on the first lap. The only time I would do a second restart was for a technical/wheel/FFB issue not related to a driver "oopsie". Everyone came to terms with it without any grief. Since we are only running up to 2 races, I wouldn't go more than 2. My personal recommendation though would be one for driver induced multi-car accidents (allowing 1 or 2 more attempts for technical issues only).

I think if there's a server issue then a restart is a must (including a lot of competitors lagging).
Restarts for "oopsies" I'm not fussed either way as long as it's kept to a maximum of 2 and the offending driver(s) are moved to the rear of the grid as a penalty which would give the driver affected the opportunity to request a restart or race on!

Thanks for all the suggestions. Thus far it hasn't been a major problem and I'll continue to use my best discretion on restarts.
