I fell asleep on the sofa at like 1AM drinking beer and watching soccer. Then I woke up at 8:05, stumbled through the house, sat in the race seat and didn't realize I forgot to put my glasses on until after the race. 'nuff said.

That was a lot of fun. I really like that car. I'll be there next month. I gotta really practice and look at my wheel settings. It was great racing with you guys even though I don't know anyone's real name. Lol. I'll have to learn them.

Very fun race this morning! Surprised myself by being able to run a clean race, not often (1st time?) that happens for me in iRacing Was able to stay with Kelly, even make a few attempts to get by (one succeeded ) and I think we kept Troy honest My plan had been to do a last lap charge and steal the 2nd place podium lol But the race ended near 1pm for me so when food was mentioned I got a bit distracted as breakfast had been a ways back for me. So when Kelly very cleverly passed Snappy right at the end of the back straight I was not prepared to immediately follow thru. The next section was not an easy area to pass in unless Snappy drove his car off the road and didn't want him to do that. But I once I lost the draft from Kelly I couldnt close the gap back up in the last few laps.

I had good time. I got a slight jump on Troy at the start and was able to get ahead of him. It didn't last very long though. I then made a few mistakes first letting by the bulk of the group and then getting too far behind. I had fun chasing Craig down. I thought he had me but we both made a mistake on the penultimate corner. His was worse and I snuck by.
Nice field I thought. Great car and track combo too. Great having Snappy with us.
I can go either way on the pit stops. Forcing pit stops where everyone needs to stop is kinda meh. It introduces something else to screw up. Maybe we do it for the next race and see how we like it?

Okay, so I'm hooked on iRacing. At least the road racing part. I've practiced a little at Lime Rock Park but I'm not sure I'm running the right layout. I ran without the chicane. What would a competitive lap time be? Under a minute?

What would a competitive lap time be? Under a minute? That is the correct layout. And yes, the times are going to be under a minute. Don't worry so much about speed right now, it's more important to adjust to the physics and learning the somewhat complex iRacing interface. Also keep in mind that our next GBR iRacing event is in a week and a half. We are doing the Corvette at Road America. Sent from my HTC One X using proboards

Snappy, one if the best things about iRacing is the amount of info there is. You can search the forum for Skip Barber Lime Rick and find other people's lap times, setups, etc. YouTube also has videos of fast laps including some that give tips.
