Still pissed.....
Had a great race going. Didn't have a lot of pace, but turned down the revs to conserve fuel, and kept an eye on the tires and figured I'd try to just keep it clean and see if I could go the distance. Was sitting in 2nd with 10 minutes to go. I had plenty of fuel and tires left. Angelo caught me with about 6 minutes to go. As we passed under the 5 minute mark, I was watching the gap back to 4th...and I think I had enough gap to hang on for a podium...until the game crashed with only a couple laps left! X( I was so pissed, I just left teamspeak so I wouldn't rant...which I'm sure nobody wanted to listen to.
Anywhos, hope everyone else had a better race than I did.

I'll be taking the results from the reaults file. Thanks for the tool Jason. Looked simple enough. I'll post official results tomorrow as we have another snow day. I've seen that many times with LR, I *think* it's a bug that affects timed races. What happened is that I was the first car across the line after the clock went to 00:00, with Angelo a few seconds behind me. The game scored us correctly but LR got confused and gave me the win.

Shit, it sounds like I need to renew my F1_71 rivalry with Angelo here! I'll be free in time for Portimao.

It was a fun race. Finally we had a full intermediate one, where strategy played a big part.
After a few aborted starts and a period of wait, we finally went for the race. Caleb was very fast in the first few laps, after overtake me on lap 1. I followed him for quite a few time, and started to really gain around lap 5 or 6. Was a nice fight, very clean. I didnt managed to overtake him, but we did our pit stops on consecutive laps, he first than me. When I did my...I got back around 7secs ahead, which was nice. After a while I started to gain a lot on T Harper and Chris, both on different strategies. I catched Chris without much trouble, but I have to say both of them did very well with the strategy they choosed (sad what happened to Chris, he really deserved better luck. But I know how this is frustrating). Harper only did a splash to finish the race, getting back right behind me. But with better tires was fairly easy do my thing and finally get the Win. Anyway, nice played! Was a brave choice. Was the most difficult race of the season so far, and a very fun one also. I enjoyed.
But I have to say something, guys. Although I understand that here we are a more relaxed group...I ask if we can at least try to keep things on time, and avoid so much wait and restarts. To me is not easy take part on those races...because when it starts, where I live is about 1:30am, so the normal races ends around 3:00am. And I have to wake up 8:00am for work... Everytime there is a delay, it gets more and more difficult to me. Yesterday I was about to hit Esc, because we passed the schedule time to start the race in more than 20 minutes...and was getting complicated to me.
Of course Im not demanding anything...Im just asking if we can try to keep things more on schedule.
Thanks for one more great round. I hope it gets better and better.

Race results are in the second post of this thread HEREAs for my race, it was frustrating as hell. I couldn't find my practice pace at all and kept making huge mental mistakes. I think I had a 2:25+ lap in there...ugh!! I spun at three or four times. Anyway, still fun and I just need to work on my consistency. I set out to finish in the top ten and so far I have been able to do so. Props to Sheldon and Chris for the no-stoppers. Shame Chris had his technical problems...let's equate it to the proverbial $5 part failing. I know it doesn't make you feel any better. As far as starting on time - it really becomes a viscous cycle. I'd like to wait for everyone but we need to clamp down on it, especially for the enduro. I asked for the restart because I was bumped and wound up on one of the high curbs with my wheels off the ground. I'll remind everyone in the next race post but we HAVE to be ready to go at 10:15 EST. It's a 90 minute race after all. Thanks to all for supporting the series!!

Great drive Angelo, I wouldn't have had anything for you on new tires let alone used tires I really enjoyed the race as well, always challenging and great fun! Nice points battle below first are brewing, awesome!! I agree Angelo, a quick test on the server the night before (whenever possible) would solve the delayed starts due to lack of patch or updates. Decent turnout again, good to see. Looking forward to Spa......

a quick test on the server the night before (whenever possible) would solve the delayed starts due to lack of patch or updates. This is key. The server is up at least a week in advance. Any further patch updates will also be handled in a slower fashion to avoid this sort of thing. Thanks for everyone's patience during our first season.

Testing the server before jumping in for a race? Now that's just crazy talk!

Just watched the replay, interesting race. Great dicing with everyone, clean, hard and fair. One more corner or two and Caleb would have been by me, nice driving

And agree on the pre-testing, for sure. Admin'ing over at ESR, I put my foot down and stopped trying to help people who don't read the damn forum, and show up 10 minutes before the race and have mismatches and glitches. It's ridiculous. Get yer shit straight before the race!

Sorry men for contributing to the delay and for joining last second.
I jumped at the chance to join GBR and the Blancpain series but am trying to finish out the ESR Late Model Sedan series and I'm doing everything I can to help one of my teammates in his bid to win that championship. That'll be decided in two weeks and I can focus more on us here.
As for my race. Over the weekend, I did some laps to somewhat learn the layout and made a base set but without a warmup and hundreds of laps at a different version of the track, I was pretty lost when the race started. I didn't recognize the corners until I got to them so my plan was just to stay out of trouble and finish the race.
That lasted about five or six corners until I apparently ran over an anti-tank mine and was launched 70 feet straight up. I thought Silverstone was in the UK not Afghanistan! I could have kept going but I had no one to race with so I moved on to real life stuff that needed my attention at home.

Tom, we've seen that before with low ride heights and those orange bread loaf curbs. Cut a corner too much and the nose catches. Hawks did a similar move at a V8 race in Melbourne.

The one at Melbourne was brutal. The other one I had was at Oultan Park. I'm glad someone else finally found the landmine besides me! Jump to the 5:20 mark of this video for my penta flip. LOL.
