This is my track. I got my first efnet win here (in a Cadillac - NAGT mod) so I put pressure on myself to do well here. It's also the only major track I've visited in person so I feel a connection here. Work has been busy so I was surprised to qualify 2nd with just a handful of practice laps. Tony and I had a hell of a race back in P3/4 while Jeff and Angelo built up a gap. I was managing tires and Tony wasn't making any crazy moves so it was looking like a tire battle between us. Jeff pitted and I was waiting for Angelo to pit and he didn't, he didn't, he didn't, he did!! Unfortunately by that point Tony and I had taken opposite paths around a lapped car and he came out worst from the 3-wide cornering which gave me enough gap to cruise home on worn tires. From the small amount of practice I did, I knew a full 100L tank was good for about 48 minutes so... 45 minutes + 1 lap wasn't going to be a problem as long as I shifted before the redline.

My best race so far. I only spun once and that dropped from 5th to 9th and then had some great battles with Chris and Sheldon. I knew I would have to stop so melting my tires trying to get past them was fine for me. I have no idea how to save tires or fuel like some of you guys, but I am happy with where I ended up.
During practice I couldn't break 2:12 but somehow during quali I got a 2:10. I was shocked by this so finishing in the top 10 made my night.

My night was mixed but I am happy to get a fouth place finish. I think I got my PB in the 9's during my ONE flying lap of quali. I couldn't get a spot on track without traffic and was in last place until that lap. I had time for one more but as soon as I was a little down I aborted.
Something happened to my FFB after the restart. It was all of a sudden like I had it at 60% FFB. It took a while to get used to it and I lost quite a few spots. I knew Dale and Tony were going to go w/o stopping so as soon as I saw a gap to Jimmy after his spin, I changed to a no-stop myself. I was happy with a fifth place and began to short shift it hoping the leaders would pit.
It paid off as Jeff pitted. He was making up 3-4 seconds on the last three laps. We crossed the line with 1/10th between us!!
I love that the pit strategy is playing into this. That was our intentions from the onset. I hope you all like how it is going thus far. Some guys are going to hate having to drive conservatively but they have the sprint races to not have to worry about it. Kelly and I wanted to simulate endurance racing within the time restraints of a week night.
I'll do the results tonight!
