Yeah, the base car the modded skins are based off can be a little unwieldy.
I know there are guys that have gone in and written tweaked handling scripts for their own modded cars and such.
I am continually astounded by how modded this game is.

Damn. The one kid shot his partner right in the noggin. I hope that kid doesn't plan on being a real officer some day. Holy smokes.

I was just killing myself laughing at the antics. Every time he was trying to all official like shit would happen. Tagging his secondary in the head was awesome.
You could totally see it coming too! I love watching that kid's videos for sheer entertainment.
I recorded a few calls last night and even I was laughing at my own stuff. I totally blazed this guy after a pursuit as he jumped out and pulled a weapon.
I will put some of my own antics together and throw it up in youtube. No code chatter from me though. You will only get in game sound.

I went on last night to try to install some mods, but realized I need the Liberty City add-on. I just have the base GTA IV game. Damn.

What mod were you trying to install and isn't GTA IV Liberty City?

What mod were you trying to install and isn't GTA IV Liberty City? When I load up the game, it just says GTA IV. The menu pops up and I can select GTA IV or Episode from Liberty City. When I click Episodes from Liberty City, it doesn't load up the game. Am I still good? Sorry for my ignorance. I've never played GTA before.

All mods are installed from outside the game. You can install the LCPD:FR mod into both GTA IV AND Episodes from Liberty City if you like.
I installed mine into the base GTA IV folder.
From there I start the game, choose Play on the GTA IV side.
Then once inside the game you press ALT - P to start the LCPD:FR mod.
If you have issues, we can get together on TS and I can help out if you like.
Cheers!

I've got the 1.0a mod installed along with the 1.0a hotfix. I installed the 2 car packs you mentioned above as well as the ELR light package thing. I entered the game with no errors, hit alt P and that told me to go to the nearest police station. I did so and it teleported me back to the ship yard place where you start. For some reason I'm still in the stock car with that annoying cousin.

I would go into GTA IV the game and get past the basics so you can ditch the cousin and get out on your own. Soon as you can explore the world on your own put your phone into sleep mode which will pause the main storyline in GTA IV. You put your phone into sleep mode by: Pressing up arrow to bring up your phone Enter to bring up the menu Down arrow to options Enter to select options down arrow to "Sleep Mode" Enter to sleep mode Enter to confirm sleep mode Backspace until you eventually put your phone away. At that point I would sleep on the bed and save your game so all of this is already done. Once you sleep (save your game) Head out, steal a car and Press ALT P and drive to a station. Let me know how it works. I had played GTA IV for a couple of days on its own before I stumbled across the mod.

You do need to atleast get passed the first part and the cut scenes. Once you walk out of the apartment it will give you a few hints on parking and eating, then you should be good.

Yep, my thoughts exactly. Get passed the basics and you should be off and running! No pun intended as you WILL be running. Suspects routinely bolt and off you go!

No trouble at all! Its super fun and with any luck we might even take a crack at a MP Patrol some time. THAT should generate all sorts of hilarity. I went through my mod list last night and I posted up everything I am using save a Glock 20 texture I swapped out the stock pistol for. I messed up importing the new sound so I'm still working on that. Other than that, everything I have and am using I put up for you fine folks. Cheers!
