Are you not using a HUD plugin? The fuel calc on the track was off, significantly. A "38 lap" tank only went 28 laps, for example.
I use GID religiously now so shit like that doesn't happen to me.
As for me, I tore the tires off yet again, and as a result not only lost the race but cost Zeke the race too. I apologize again for running you off the track at Turn 3 Zeke, but I assure you it wasn't on purpose. I started that lap with 7% rubber left on my L/F. The car simply wouldn't turn. Frankly I should have just backed off and let you both by to finish 3rd, but my tire frustration was balanced by my competitiveness, I guess.
Congrats to Jason anyway, he took advantage, and frankly, he was faster than me and as fast as Zeke, so well-deserved.
I copied, number for number, Dale's steering angle, degrees, caster, camber, and steering input. It did absolutely nothing for me. I'd be fast enough to win the race for about 5 laps, then fall off a cliff. Sprint races can't come soon enough.
The only other thing I can think to do is spend a bunch of time backing brake pressure way down or something, see if I can avoid front lockups. I don't feel like I'm doing it very often, but maybe I am.

Well I did better than I expected to so the fact that I finished alive was good enough for me. I went for a one stop strategy on softs and it WOULD have worked ok IF I had put more fuel in on the first stint. I thought I had increased it enough but again I was a lap or two short in fuel than I wanted to be which meant 4 more laps on the second stint that I did not want to happen. Well the last lap and a half was brutal. My tires fell COMPLETELY off and it was spin city all the way. Wound up losing 3 or more spots but had I went in for tires with just a lap to go I probably would have lost more.
Again that was some fun racing though. Had some nice battling for the majority of the race which kept it fresh and fun and exciting.

Yes John I use XD here and at efnet never been a problem before and like I said I alway, always put more in just in case, I never cut it close because XD said I could. And looking at the results it was lap 12 coming into the pits I ran out on so lap 11 is when the "Gas Can" came up and my HUD said 1 lap of fuel left.

Weird. GID was bang on at 3.5 L/lap if I had my foot in it and 3.2 L if I was conserving.

That fuel issue bit me too. I put in several extra gallons but it wasn't enough and spent extra time in the pits refueling. I fell asleep somewhere in sector 2 and went off track after completely blowing a braking point, and that made the race a lot more interesting for the front runners. KJ would have been there with us at the end if it wasn't for the fuel thing.
That was just a racing deal John, and I would have made the same gamble. I do have to say I thought I had the race in the bag with that pass on the outside of Tarzan, but Hawks was there and managed to get the win from both of us! I had tons of tire left and was just waiting patiently. I backed into the wall as a result of the contact and broke a panhard rod or a watts link (I know that feeling from racing real cars...bleh) so was lucky to hold onto 4th at the end. That's why I was flashing my lights trying to let Hooper by, I could have spun out any second and I didn't want to take him out.
Congrats to the winners and survivors! Zandvoort was a really enjoyable track.

Great race last night (and not just because I finally got a W). Didn't start off so well in qualy as after I ran for about 4 minutes, realized I had inters on. Whoops. Threw on the softs and was able to squeeze out a 1:40 and that put me 4th on the grid. Got a decent start and jumped up to third, behind Wagner and Culbert. After a few laps, I went wide at Sheivlak and into the sand. That allowed Kevin to get by and put me back in 4th. From there I just tried to drive consistent laps and hit my marks. I believe I had a little more downforce than some of the front runners as I would close in on the corners, but they would pull away slightly on the longer straights, especially the front straight. I saw Wagner go off and I snuck by him (this helped make up for my own mistake earlier). Went with a 1 stop strategy on inters. Made it to lap 15 and my left front was down to around 30 or 35%. Culbert pit a lap earlier, so was hoping that would prove beneficial later in the race. When I came out of the pits, Culbert retook the lead. Wagner was about 4 or 5 seconds behind me at this point. I closed in on John pretty quickly, but I just couldn't quite make a clean pass (I didn't want to take us both out or ruin my tires in the process). This allowed Wagner to close in on my bumper. From there it was neck and neck for the last 10 laps or so. After a couple side by side moments, Wagner made a nice pass on me at Turn 1, which dropped me back to 3rd. From there I just tried to stay close. Wagner and Culbert battled it out. Lots of tire smoke and sideways moments from both. I just kept biding my time hoping they would either burn the rubber off their tires or they would make a mistake. With just under 2 laps to go, the moment came and they got together and hit the wall on the left. Wagner bounced back onto the track as I narrowly got by without getting taken out myself. From there I just had to keep it on the black stuff (which I did luckily) and got my first official V8 victory in almost 2 years! Woohoo! Thanks for the congrats from many of you I received after the race. I always have a blast racing with this group and it's nice to finally get one. Hopefully I don't have to wait 2 more years before I get another one!

Congrats Jason. I guarantee you will win another race before the Seahawks win another Super Bowl. Sent from my HTC One X using proboards
