Date: Sunday, March 23, 2013 Time: 6:50am PST (70 minute Warmup/Practice starts at 6:50am PST, Qualifying starts at 8:00am PST and a 35 minute race starts at 8:15am PST) Car: Corvette (paid content) Track: Sebring (paid content) Warm Up: 70 minutes Qualifying: 15 minutes, 4 laps Race: 35 minutes Tune: Open. The tire model has changed to NTM v 5 and so hopefully Troy can help us out with a tune or two. Keep in mind that we will have to start on time, since there is no way I can change the race start time once we are in the sim. You can be late for warm up and qualifying and can come and go as you please. There will be unlimited Fast Repairs, so no one is left completely in the dust due to a mistake. Because you all are road purists, this will be a standing start. Also, we will use iRacing chat from now on for this and all over GBR iRacing events. Make sure you map a push to talk key before you jump on the track.

The lap times are around 2 minutes here. Did you want to extend the qual time like last month? We won't be able to run an outlap and 4 qual laps in 10 minutes. I'm working on a setup and need to know how long the race will be for fuel calculations.

I'm working on a setup and need to know how long the race will be for fuel calculations. Good catch. I extended the qual time to 15 minutes. Race time will be 35 minutes. I just ran Sebring for a two hour NW League race on Sunday night. It was good fun. I ran the Ford GT, but I am sure the Corvette will be just as good, if not better.

you ran a 2 hr race in a road car? may have to try and dig up some earlier posts... I did. It is for the NW Majors Series, which has both oval and road racing. It was brutal man, but I am glad I did it. I was fine for the first 1 1/2 hours, and then my engine blew, probably because I had damaged it by downshifting when the RPMs were too high. I popped it into 3rd on the last turn and then next thing I know, POW!!!!, the engine blew. But, I was able to crawl back to the pit and get a new car, thanks to the 2 resets that we had for the race. From that point on, I was never the same. As soon as the checkered flag came out, I quit out of iRacing, turned off my computer and went to bed. I finished 4th out of an 8 or 9 Ford GT field. We also had HPDs and Vettes.

Came up with a setup. It is basically the same as last month, just changed the gearing. Lap times should be just under 2 minutes. Here it is: GBR Sebring 35 min Race.sto (1.54 KB)
