Date: Sunday, April 27, 2013 Time: 6:50am PST (70 minute Warmup/Practice starts at 6:50am PST, Qualifying starts at 8:00am PST and a 35 minute race starts at 8:15am PST) Car: Corvette (paid content) Track: Bathurst (paid content) Warm Up: 70 minutes Qualifying: 15 minutes, 4 laps Race: 35 minutes Tune: Open. The tire model has changed to NTM v 5 and so hopefully Troy can help us out with a tune or two. Keep in mind that we will have to start on time, since there is no way I can change the race start time once we are in the sim. You can be late for warm up and qualifying and can come and go as you please. There will be unlimited Fast Repairs, so no one is left completely in the dust due to a mistake. Because you all are road purists, this will be a standing start. Also, we will use iRacing chat from now on for this and all over GBR iRacing events. Make sure you map a push to talk key before you jump on the track.

Bump for this Sunday's race. If we do not get an improved turnout this Sunday, say 5 or more participants, I likely will shut down our Sunday morning GBR iRacing events until we can get more participation.

Can we get a show of hands as to who plans to attend tomorrow morning's race??? Right now, I have Troy and I.

Got frustrated. Never knew if the front was going to stick, the rear was going to stick, both ends were going to stick or neither end was going to stick. Pretty much made it impossible for me to get comfortable in the car never being able to anticipate what it was going to do. The behavior varied from corner to corner, lap to lap...never any consistency at the same corner. Props to those of you that have more patience than me. I know the track pretty damn well, I've got hundreds of laps around here in other sims, so it wasn't so much a matter of not knowing the track. At least I didn't take Craig out when it got away. I thought I had saved the big slide...then it kicked out again on the straight and tossed into the wall. Motor blew about 100 meters later down the track.

Great racing everyone. This is one where I really didn't practice at all before the session opened. I had done a little bit of testing a few months ago to figure out the gearing, but that was it. I was taking a break from racing during iRacing's week 13. After I downloaded the updates last Tuesday and did a short test to make sure it worked, I turned it off until 10 minutes before our practice started.
I like the casual atmosphere of our races how we make sure everyone has a chance and it doesn't turn into a hot lapping event. I was running some decent times and then just pushed for that little bit more and got sideways on the mountain. Those walls bite hard. Luckily I was able to drive back to the pits and get a new car, but it was too close to the end of the race to catch back up.
Congratulations Craig on the win and Sheldon for 2nd place. I was watching the relative screen and it looked like you guys were having a great battle.
