I don't know what it is about me this season but I can't make inters work. In practice, I was lucky to do a 2:29 on them so after doing the math, I picked a three-stint soft strategy. Me... two stops? That's like Tony Diamond playing a Katy Perry song... just wrong. Like John said, the pits were pretty short here. Short enough to almost erase the penalty of an extra stop.
Even though I knew John was on softs as well, I was blown away by how quick he built a gap on me... 2 sec/lap easily and his fastest was 4 sec (!) a lap quicker. So that was that... all I could do was maximize the tires advantage I had to the cars around me. On the second stint I destroyed my fronts trying to make up time to leapfrog Helios (didn't work) and the third stint I may have been a little too cautious and ran out of time to catch Boza.
Along the way I had a fun fight with Hawks as we ran side-by-side from T12 to T16 and some crazy door banging in true V8 Style with Boza at the top of the course.
I won't argue with 5th though.
