Date: Sunday, May 11, 2014 Time: 7:00am PST (70 minute Warmup/Practice starts at 7:00 am PST, Qualifying starts at 8:10am PST and a 40 minute race starts at 8:10am PST) Cars: Skip Barber (paid content) Track: VIR North Course Summit Point (paid content) Warm Up: 70 minutes Qualifying: 10 minutes, 4 laps Race: 40 minutes Tune: Open. You can use last month's set up. This car has very few items that can be adjusted. Keep in mind that we will have to start on time, since there is no way I can change the race start time once we are in the sim. You can be late for warm up and qualifying and can come and go as you please. There will be unlimited Fast Repairs, so no one is left completely in the dust due to a mistake. Because you all are road purists, this will be a standing start. I have restricted fuel to 40% of max, which should force a pit stop or two. Also, we will use iRacing chat for this and all over GBR iRacing events. Make sure you map a push to talk key before you jump on the track.

Guys, I just spoke to my wife and it looks like we are heading to her mother's house for Mother's Day. Therefore, I will be unable to make this Sunday's race. I will leave it set up and you guys can go ahead and race without me. If we don't have at least 4 or 5 folks that plan to race, it probably makes sense to cancel.

Yeah, I can't attempt to race on Mother's Day!

Because the race is early here I can fit it in before I go see my Mom after lunch.

I plan to be there. We usually go out for Mother's Day on Saturday to avoid the crowds.

Change of plans, we are going out to eat tomorrow for Brunch, so I will miss the race. Have fun.

I'm trying to get going in iRacing, but am struggling to get up to speed. Also, won't be available because of mothersday anyway.

Thanks Craig (it is Craig, right?) Right now, it's not so much about questions, it's about spending the time to get used to the feel of a different sim. Maybe it's also the lack of real tuning knowledge so I'm not really setting up the car, just trying to run everything stock. Right now, I'm messing around with the Mazda's.

Yes, sorry, I am Craig. My iRacing name is Craig J Capon. I will send you a FR and an invite to our GBR iRacing league.
The Mazda Cup is a great place to start. Just focus on racing clean and getting up your SR. Don't worry too much about wins, that will come later (at least for a good sim racer like you, I rarely win, LOL) Once you get your D and C licenses, the world of iRacing really opens up. Also, give oval racing a try. You never know, you might like it.

lol, nothing to apologize for, I thought your name was Craig, just when I posted that, I all of the sudden doubted myself for a bit, and didn't want to call you something else.
I think one of the things that is drawing me to iRacing is the ability to race when I feel like it. Even though I love racing with everyone in GBR, there are times when I feel like racing when nothing is scheduled and no one is on, and other times when something is scheduled, that I don't feel like racing.
Also, I wasn't really sure how the friends/contacts system in iRacing worked, and until your friend request activated that blinking green light at the bottom, I didn't realize there was a bar down there.

Bingo, that is exactly why iRacing works for me. It also is the only place to go for high end NASCAR, on demand!!!
