Here is the template for those that wish to do a custom skin for your car. ***DOWNLOAD TEMPLATES HERE***Sportsman rear wing and rear splitter templatesDOWNLOAD HEREHolden Template with parts marked.DOWNLOAD HERErF2 is a bit different than rF1 when it comes to custom paints. The paints go in: UserData/player/Settings/FVR_V8SC12_HOLDEN or UserData/player/Settings/FVR_V8SC12_FORD In order to get the folder to show up, you need to select your car in game, then select "Tuning" and on the right you will see a button to "Create Directory". At the top of the scree, you will see where it creates the folder. This is where you will place your custom skins. For example, I'm using the Holden #66 car. The custom skin files go in: UserData/player/Settings/FVR_V8SC12_HOLDEN/SCA66_12 One last thing that is VERY important. Custom skins MUST always end with alt. For example, "JHAWKSalt.dds" We will not be using the auto download skins function in rF2 as it still has issues. We will handle it like we did in rF1 and keep a file with all custom skins. Here are a couple screen shots that show the screens to get to the tuning area in order to create the folders to put your custom skins in. Attachments:

Quick question, might be dumb. If we make a skin pack and drop everyone's folders in, will it automatically show they're skin if they use it? Or do we have to link each car by going in and making a custom directory for it? As you can tell, I'm not yet familiar with how rF2's file system works.

I believe it should, but we will need to test it once there are a few custom skins. CMS is having guys package their skins into a MAS file and name it using their unique rF2 ID. Not sure if that's necessary but they are claiming it is in order to see custom skins on replays. Sounds like there are plenty of issues in rF2 regarding this.
And not a dumb question at all Dan. We are all trying to figure all the little quirks out in rF2.

Added Sportsman rear wing and splitter templates in the OP. Also available in the Downloads thread in the GBR V8 Supercars section.

Anyone know what the Windows and Rim file has to look like? And if rF2 supports a MISC Folder for windows and rims?

Dan, in the Support folder (I think), you'll see the MAS2 tool. Use that to unpack an existing car's MAS file. From there you'll see all the parts. As far as where you save those outside the MAS for a custom skin... I don't know. I'm at work and without rF2 installed here can't be more detailed with my help...

Anyone know what the Windows and Rim file has to look like? And if rF2 supports a MISC Folder for windows and rims? Looks like they are grouped by team. For example, the window file for your car is located in FVRV812_KR_TEAM.mas. You use the MAS2.exe program located under support/tools and you select the file and extract it. I'm guessing it will have to be named in the same format as your custom paint for the body. The default window file name for your car Dan is FDSR11_12INWINDOW.dds. I found the rim under FVR_HOLDEN.mas and it is called AUV8_SPINRIM00.dds. There are a few other rim files in there as well, but not sure what is what. Definitely going to take some getting used to in order to figure all these things out. We ain't in rF1-ville anymore Toto. ---- By the way, when using the MAS2.exe program, you have to run at admin in order to extract the files. Just be careful not to edit the mas file or you will get a mismatch. It's simply so you can extract the dds for use in your custom skin (I believe anyway).

Definitely going to take some getting used to in order to figure all these things out. We ain't in rF1-ville anymore Toto. There might be multiple rims that come in at different speeds... I remember reading something about a static rim file and a spinning rim file, for example.

OK, found out that windows have to be named (Your_skin_nameEXWINDOW.dds) to show up. But I can't find an alpha layer for the windows to work with like the old V8 skins, so my windows show up opaque. This is pissing me off...

I tried the INWINDOW Jason, and it did not show up, so I looked in the .mas file and tried all the ones I could see, only the EXWINDOW worked for me, but like I said, it's not clear. In the old V8's and every other mod I have painted for, there is an alpha layer that you have to mess with to get windows to show up transparent. This template dose not have an alpha that I can find.
Need some help figuring this one out. I'm not going to do custom paints and not be able to put custom #s on the windows. It looks like S#!t.
