Has anyone else checked out this game? It is an open world arcade driving/racing game made by Ubisoft. Scheduled to release on Nov 11th for PC, PS4, XBOX-1, XBOX-360. No PS3. Looks very interesting. It will model a scaled down version of the entire United States. Here is a description from the Ubisoft website: PRODUCT DESCRIPTIONTake part in a relentless ride to infiltrate and overtake the 510s, a gang grown around Detroit’s illegal street racing scene. Your plan? Grow your rep in the underground-racing scene and sabotage their activities city-by-city all across a fully-open world United States. Maneuver through the bustling streets of New York City and Los Angeles, cruise down sunny Miami Beach, or trek through the breathtaking plateaus of Monument Valley. Each locale comes with its own set of surprises and driving challenges to master. On your journey you will encounter other players on the road – all potentially worthy companions to crew up with, or future rivals to compete against.
Set in a persistent, massive and living world, The Crew is driving at its most exciting, varied, and open. Here is the website to check it out: thecrew-game.ubi.com/portal/en-US/home/index.aspxThere is a closed beta on August 25-29. I am planning to pre-order it to get guaranteed access to the beta. I first heard about the game from someone over at f-wheel.com. He was in a beta test a while back and really liked the game.

Hadn't heard of it. Sorta sounds like GTA meets Forza Horizons.

Hadn't heard of it. Sorta sounds like GTA meets Forza Horizons. To me it sounds more like Forza Horizon only much bigger. I don't think there will be any out of car action, looks like it will be all driving with some cut scenes. What I like about it is that it will be on PC with triple screen support. The driving model won't be realistic of course, but it will be a fun way to waste some time when not in the mood for hardcore racing.

I tried it out, but it needs a lot of work. The graphics were messed up, kept getting screen blackouts. It was a common issue reported on the forums. It was hard to get the wheel settings dialed in. I don't expect it to handle like a sim, but I at least expect to be able to get a little feedback from my wheel. I think I could get it working better if I spent more time with it. Triple screens looked ok when I could see everything. Looks to be promising, but I will hold final judgement until it is fully released.

I picked it up for XB1, looks really good, not to hard to drive with a controller once you tweak it. So far I'm really digging the game. It's a lot of fun. Now I just need to crew up, but it's very good solo also.
I still plan on getting it for PC, it's that much fun.
I'm not huge on graphics over game play, but it's very pretty in game.

I downloaded and played it on the PC a little bit the other night. It is a very arcade game.
The graphics are nothing special, just ok.
Wheel and pedals work, just takes some getting used to. Definitely not iRacing or rFactor.
It is fun to just drive around and not have to worry about SR or IR though.
Didn't get very far yet, will update my impressions after I spend some time with it.

Crew X-Box1 version.
I messed with this game almost all of last night. And my impressions of it are growing.
For those wondering what it's like or compared to, It is an open world driving game like Test Drive unlimited 1 & 2, Forza Horizons 1 & 2 and Driver San Fran.
In it's openness, It's more like TDU and Horizons, but much bigger. And you can drive pretty much anywhere your vehicle will go, kinda like GTA: San Andreas/GTA 5.
In game play it is more like Driver, where you have missions based off using your car. Take downs, chases and running from the law etc, etc.... The Law will chase you if you do things while they are in the area in free drive.
It also has Races like in Horizons. It also has race tracks in certain parts of the country which will come into play later in the game from what I've read. I have found two so far, a big oval in the mid west and an Ice track around Colorado in the mountain states area.
All and all, I would say in my opinion, this is way more fun then Horizons or any of the other games I have mentioned as a comparison, minus the GTA titles, still my favorite console games. And the map is easily twice the size of either Horizon games. It took me about an hour give or take 5 minutes to drive from Seattle to the furthest North Eastern area on the map, running at 150 Mph. Give or take 20 Mph in some really tight areas. And the traffic around and in big cities can get tough to maneuver through.
Their are hidden cars and other things to find while cruising around in Free Drive which you are automatically in when not running a mission or race.
And the landmarks are real world for the area. Dallas and the Hill Country in Texas were easy for me to recognize as I drove through it. Smaller then real life, but enough of it was there to know where you were. And the big cities are big, just not as big as real life.
The graphics in my opinion are better then Horizons 2. But that could just be the attention to detail that went into the landscape. Each area that I drove through looked just like it's real world location. As far as the areas I have actually been. Such as California, Colorado, Texas, New Mexico, Nevada, Arizona and Louisianan.
I even had several wrecks driving through the snow in the mountains, not to mention the car killing dear I hit around Seattle. Yes there is wildlife.
As far as arcade games go, even with a controller, The Crew has the best driving physics and the best feel for what the car is doing out of all the games mentioned above.
On a scale of 1-10 my ratings of mentioned games is this:
Test Drive Unlimited 2: 5
FORZA Horizons 2: 8
Driver: San Fran: 6-7
The Crew: 8 1/2-9
This is just my opinions, so don't get all pissy with me.
EDIT: One thing I forgot to mention, You can configure your cars in many ways for many race types. Like: Street, Track, Dirt and Rally/Raid. Or you can leave them in the stock road trim. Another point over Horizons in my opinion.

Sounds fun.....does the pc support triple screens? How's the car selection? Are they customizable aside from compound and paint? Are you always in the car or can you get out like gta?
Cheers

Troy will have to speak on the PC side, I have it for XB1. No getting out of the car, Just like Horizons.
Cars are customizable, but not to the extent of creating your own paints. You can do class customizing, such as street, dirt, etc... You can paint color and apply decals. You can choose parts. Body, engine, wheels and tires etc...
Custom paints is where Horizons still takes the win. But I have got to the point I don't even paint in FORZA anymore, so not a big + or - as far as game play goes for me.
EDIT: You asked about car selection. Typical run of Sports cars, American Muscle, Imports and trucks. With some classic muscle and Euro cars tossed in. But they have car packs like FORZA coming out monthly. And the trucks have a real place in this game as Raid vehicles for the offroad missions, You can use a car here, but the trucks have way more durability. Unless you encounter a train.....
