Introducing the MR2 AW11 Monday Night Drop-In series. We tested these last week and we all had a good time. The mod is still in beta (release # 0.91) but I feel the race series cars are ready. We will be using the race series cars called "Track Attack Race Club MR2 Racing Series". Tunes will be FIXED for the series. I am starting this off with a 7-week mini series to see if we have decent turn-outs. Most tracks are short, club-racing style venues. IMPORTANT SETUP INFO - Use the ISIBABYFACTORY trick to get yourself some money in-game. Purchase the car of your choice and post it in this thread. Then go to "Upgrades" and select the 3S-GTE engine upgrade (bottom of the list). This will give your car ~200 HP. Additionally, you can select any other upgrades, but I recommend you add at least RealFeel under force feedback and the correct transmission for your setup/style. You can also change the wheels, wing, etc. as you wish. Typical race format is as follows: SERVER NAME: GBR - MR2 DATE: See Schedule thread TIME: 7:30 PM PT / 10:30 ET for the first race QUALIFICATION: Race 1 - Pre-race practice session standings; Reverse Grid for subsequent races TRACK: See Downloads thread FLAGS: Black Flags Only RACE FORMAT: Three 15 minute races PIT: NA FUEL: Normal TIRES: Normal DAMAGE%: 50% DRIVING AIDS: Auto Clutch TUNING: Fixed Tunes Server will be only be online the night of the race. I will endeavor to have it up at least two hours prior to race race start.

I'll take the #33 car Alan Evans. If it's not spoken for. Jim

I'd like to run some, but getting very poor frame rates frm this mod when lots of cars on trk (not when solo). Also the cars colors get botched, the red MR2 gets colored stripes on it. Have tried DX9 and AUTO. Thx for suggestions, will likely show for 2nd / 3rd heats in coming weeks if resolved, not normally able till 7:45 or so Wa. state. My setup handles rFac1 very well, racing at R2P in lots of mods, never issues...
Also to confirm, it is a fixed setup series? If so THX, liking that, will show for more this Winter of those events
Cheers

Yes, it is a fixed series. You're welcome to join.
As for the framerates; the mod creator used a pretty detailed model. Maybe try lowering your opponent detail?

By the way, he's started working on getting this into rF2 but admits it's a steep learning curve so it may be a while.

Also the cars colors get botched, the red MR2 gets colored stripes on it. Have tried DX9 and AUTO. I had the same issue. DX9 is correct but you also need max texture quality selected in-game to resolve that.

Hello chaps! I'm a bit late to the party. It seems I've missed your league! I'm sure some of you may have read who I am in the application bit. Some of you may know me from F1SR, I notice a few familiar names here I'd be interested to hear of any feedback or problems you had with the mod. It's the first car I've ever done for rFactor. A friend who is a genius converted it from Forza hence the detailed model, and low FPS in some cases. DX9 is required and lowering the texture level does seem to screw up the textures mapping somewhat. There is also a CTD issue when you have more than about 24 cars on track. In real life the series has upto 38 cars racing, so to create this in-game you need to install the 4GB patch which makes the game use more of your RAM. I'm trying to rack my brains to remember what I've changed since the version you used. I've fixed the dodgy undertray value which made the cars react badly to curbs. Also added the rest of the cars from the race series. I've made a few minor tweaks to the HDV for most of the cars. The Mk1.5 turbo, and Mk1.6 V6 now have completely reworked suspension so should now be a bit more controllable. I've removed the engine upgrade from the race-cars, as in real life the series has strict rules to keep everything original and standard. I've also recently put a track-pack together which includes all the UK tracks used in the real series, and a few other short tracks which I think suit the car. Anyway, I hope you enjoyed the car. Unfortunately where I race everyone has now moved on to rF2 so the MR2 wont be used there Cheers

Thanks for taking the time to put the mod together. I only got to make a couple races myself, but had a blast...when I wasn't turtleing off curbs.

Loved the Mod as is, the curbs were an adventure. But hopefully we can run the new version soon. Thanks for letting us use your work, great fun.

Who am I kidding...bicycling off the curbs was half the fun I was having in that car.
