This was an awesome experience. We started 22nd in class and finished 4th. The car barely had a scratch in it after 12 hours. Bring on the 24 hours of Spa!

I thought we were going to maybe get third. Dale was on the radio, "He's slow. He's out of gas. Push, push, push. 2 laps back to 5th. Push, push, push!" Ended up missing 3rd by 2.5 seconds after 12 hours.

Yeah, the finish was strange. The lead prototype was in the pits as the clock turned 0:00. I wasn't sure if I was just seeing a timing glitch because I was spotting but yeah they were there and not moving. So the race didn't end until the 2nd place car on track had unlapped himself from "lead" car and run an extra lap to complete the race (I think). As a result, people did about two extra laps and the 3rd place GT had seemingly cut it close on fuel and was shortshifting. One more lap and we'd have got him. Chris had enough of a buffer back to 5th that even if he spun while chasing down 3rd he would have time to get going again so I was urging him on to go faster Anyway, great success for our first iRacing endurance event. Lots learned though around the mechanics of the sim and what to do when pitting. For example, on my first stop and someone's subsequent stop, fuelling was somehow getting deselected before entering the pit lane so we have to check that and double-check that. We also learned the value of having a standby driver when Chris missed his scheduled time because of visitors (I ended up jumping in to the seat early and drove his 2 hour stint and he took my later stint).

Hell, a couple more guys and we could field 2 cars for the 6 hours at the Glen. I was thinking the same - and we'll need all of the help we could get when we hit the 24 hours of Spa

6 Hours of Watkins Glen is coming up in about a month. Any interest in putting 1 or 2 teams together?
