My kids have been playing Farming Simulator 2013 for some time now, and have been trying to get me into it.
Steve, my oldest (Custom 45) found a sale on Farm games a while back at Bundle Stars which had Farming Simulator 15, Farming Simulator 2013, Agricultural Simulator 2011: Extended Edition, Agricultural Simulator 2013 Steam Edition, Agricultural Simulator: Historical Farming and Professional Farmer 2014 for $2.99
So I decided to try it, Out of all of these the Farming Simulator 2013 and 15 are the best.
Farming Simulator 15 has the same graphics as Euro Truck Simulator 2, so it really looks good.
The whole game is about farming of course, from field prep to harvest and getting your crops to market and everything in between. Sounds boring right..
Far from it, it is more addicting then the truck game by far. In addition to the farm you start out with, you can buy more fields and do plenty of side missions for extra cash, anything from transporting a lost crate of goods to mowing the local baseball field.
And all the equipment you could need to do all of this is in the game, and if you need something else, say you take the mission to mow the baseball field but you feel the tractor with the mowing attachment is a bit big, you can always download a small riding mower mod from the very active modding community.
One of the coolest features is multiplayer, you can invite friends to join you on your farm and help you get the crops in, or whatever needs doing. Or you can just hire help in single player.
In my opinion this is a very good game/time killer, and it will kill some time, you could spend an hour just getting one small field ready and planted.
Check it out on steam, or look up hundreds of videos on You Tube. Forgot to mention, FS or LS 15 depending where you live also has a Lumber economy where you can cut trees and sell the logs or wood chips to the lumber yard, and yes it has all the equipment for that too.
