Oh yes!!! Pace notes are working again... It just got 100% better. But those narrow tracks are a BI!&H!!! I don't think there is a cliff I haven't been over, but, I haven't hit all the trees yet, so still something to work for. This game has definitely upped the difficulty, you can't just floor it like in DiRT 2 & 3, You have to drive it. Can't wait for multiplayer... The views of this driver may not match your own, this driver loves to race on dirt, and dose not mind the occasional crash. Please form your own opinions...

I thought dodging Mother Nature was the whole idea behind rally? And as long as the damage models are good.....I love crashing about as much as racing!

I picked up this game on Monday and am loving it. I am now running it on High settings at 5760 X 1200 resolution with my new 4 GB EVGA SSC 970 and it looks fantastic. I also did the FFB tweak that you can find at Race Department and that helped a lot: www.racedepartment.com/threads/ffb-tweak-no-void.104688/This brings me back to some of my favorite games for the original Xbox - Colin McRae Rally 3 and 4. I played those games for so many hours and loved every minute of them. Dirt Rally is a return to Codemaster's Colin McRae roots and it is a welcome change. Playing with a wheel, pedals and triple screens makes the experience so complete and better. I like the previous four entries in the Dirt series but the Colin McRae games are my favorites and Dirt Rally is a lot like them, only better and more modern. The physics are not quite up to the level of Richard Burns Rally, the simulation king, but they will get there. If you have any interest in rally racing, this is a must buy. Period.

I have the same bug as some others on v.0.31 where the game locks up on the 3rd stage of the 1st championship. I'll set this game aside until the next update.

Rallycross.....through the woods? I would actually be surprised if they include rallycross. The menus for the game include rally and hill climb only. Also, the original Colin McRae Rally games only had rally and hill climb, no rallycross. Dirt Rally reminds me a lot of those original Colin McRae games and it looks to me like Codemasters is going back to those roots with this title.

They stated somewhere the final version would have Rally, RallyX and Hill climb in it. I'll try to find the article again.
RallyX was supposed to show up around the same time as multiplayer.

The game is worth buying now. Even though it is supposedly in Alpha, I cannot tell from playing it. It is fully functional, with no bugs or glitches that I have been able to detect. The graphics look amazing with my 970 GPU and the FFB with my T500 is solid. Sounds are the best I have ever heard from a rally title. Overall, I like this better than even the king of rally sims, Richard Burns Rally.

DON'T DOWNLOAD THE LATEST PATCH From Steam. June 3 - justbiglee If you receive an update for DiRT Rally today please do not download it. If your Steam auto updates then please don't run it.
Look's like we've hit our first rock in the road and you could potentially lose your save game.
We'll update you later on our progress.
