Hmmm. Good thing I don't have a save game to lose!

DON'T DOWNLOAD THE LATEST PATCH From Steam. June 3 - justbiglee If you receive an update for DiRT Rally today please do not download it. If your Steam auto updates then please don't run it. Look's like we've hit our first rock in the road and you could potentially lose your save game. We'll update you later on our progress. So basically they are saying, don't play the game. You cannot launch the game without applying the update.

Youtuber EmptyBox wasn't very satisfied with the new FFB update and posted this: "Published on Jun 23, 2015 So the FFB update hit last week. I've literally been working on it since, but unable to find satisfaction. So I finally said "well heck, I've put more than enough time, tried more than enough recommended settings, it is what it is." Record video, upload. But wait, one more go. Found a tweaked setting file on RD, tried it, stopped upload. Im digging these settings, to me they are satisfactory, gravel and asphalt. I actually had fun driving the Stratos at Monte Carlo. Holy buckets! Also - do note I almost never use the 4WD cars. Most if not all of my time in this game is split between the E30 M3 or Stratos. Download the settings here : www.racedepartment.com/downloads/nerve-enhanced-ffb-for-dirt-rally-0-45.6564/Ingame settings : all 70%, except soft lock and collision (max em out to make em stand out!) My wheel settings - Fanatec CSWv2 w/ Formula Rim 100 SHO 003 DRI 060 FOR 000 SPR 030 DPR"

I tried Empty Box's recommended settings, including the mod from RD, and they do improve the feel. I also upped most of the in-game settings to 100. Wheel feels great. Loving the game. Best rally game ever. Period.

My only complaint about the game is how hard it is to acquire $$$ to buy new cars. But that is because I am spoiled by games like iRacing, Project CARS and Assetto Corsa, where you do not have to buy cars in game, and by Forza 5, Forza Horizon 2 and GT6 which have mechanisms in place that allow you to easily acquire large amounts of credits and free cars.

Ok got Dirt Rally all updated and ran a few stages. Then I installed that FFB file and that made a huge difference. Very fun game for sure. Way better than Dirt 3.

I finally saved up enough in game credits to buy a hill climb car. Very cool, worth every penny. Pikes Peak looks amazing and I am getting a silky smooth 60 FPS on my triples and so the sense of speed is jaw dropping.

If you go to Special Event instead of Championship you can choose any car and any course. I did the full length run up Pikes Peak in the Audi Quattro Pikes Peak S1. After 11+ minutes I was exhausted! I really need to work on using the handbrake and implementing the Scandinavian Flick - www.caranddriver.com/features/how-to-scandinavian-flick-feature

I had tried that and it was cool. The problem is you do not get any credits for Special Event races and so I wanted to "buy" a Hill Climb car so that I could do the championship events and get credits.
