If we go with two teams then Chris, Sheldon and I will form one team.

I also prefer the first or second stint as I have to take my daughter somewhere at 4. Race should be over by 3:30 or so.

Troy, what stints work for you? If you can run 3rd stint, we can work w/ the line up. If not we can look at re-shuffling.

Sounds like Boza, Zed, and myself in the other team. I'm good for the whole race, so I can take the later runs. Would you like to split it up into 2 hour blocks and we each do one stint, or 1 hour blocks and we each do 2 stints? One tank of fuel lasts about 65 minutes, so it is easiest to plan for 1 hour per tank.

Those times are correct for DST. The race is at 1300 GMT which never changes and that is 9am EDT/6am EDT in the summer.

I think 2 hour stints are better only to minimize the potential for screw ups during the stops. We had a couple of incidents during the 12 hour race. I can do either but just wanted to give my opinion. It is also helpful to have a crew chief when even the standard pitstop for fuel comes up.
Boza and Troy, do you both want to stick with the Ford? I also have the BMW and Ruf.

I also have the BMW and Ruf. I don't like the BMW, it just seems to have bad visability for me. I can drive the Ruf, but I have already put a lot of practice in with the Ford, so I would like to stick with that. As for the length of stints, I can do either, but prefer 2 hour stints. It takes a while for the driver changes, so 2 hour stints will cut the driver changes from 5 to 2, which will save substantial time. Boza and Zed decide who wants to take the first and second stints, and I can take the final stint since you both have to be somewhere. I can do crew chief on and off for the whole race. I will always be connected and available, just might not always be right in front of my pc. Also need to decide who is going to sign in first and who will do the qualifying. Whoever signs in to the race first will determine our split. Do we want to run with the faster guys, fast guys, or slow guys? We have a range of iRatings to choose from.

I'm ok with 2 hrs then. I'll take the 1st stint if that's cool with everybody. I guess that will put us with the slow guys:)

But I would prefer you sign in first because your iRating is in the middle which should put us about where we should be. Somebody else chime in here if this is not totally correct. From what I have seen and heard, the biggest challenge in these races is not getting hit by the prototypes when they pass. The setup for the Ford is very stable and you have to try hard to put it into the wall. They changed it so that it has synchronous shifting now like the other GT3 cars. So you don't have to use the clutch at all. Just use your paddle shifters or a sequential shifter. No clutch and no blipping the throttle, it is all done automatically by the car.

cool - sounds like we are all set then. Ford; Boza, Zed, Jarhead; 2 hours a piece. I'm the slowest of the three of us so I shouldn't be the one to qualify!

The splits aren't made up of qualifying times first?

I don't think your the slowest, I've never driven the Ford before. I'm probably the slowest out the group. We should set up a practice session. What day and time is good for everybody?

I'll be off work for the weekend here starting in an hour. With the exception of Saturday, I "should" be available whenever aside from the GBR race tonight & the iR V8SC at the same time tomorrow.
