I'm currently running an nvidia GTX650ti 2gig. Looking to upgrade to another nvidia card and was wondering what you guys run and if you have any problems with any of the sims we run. So basically looking for advice on which cards you think are the best performers for what we do at a reasonable price.

i think the GTX X70's are usually the best bang for your buck. I am currently running a evga GTX 970 4gb scc and really enjoyed it up till today lol microsoft and nvidia both did an update in the past 2 days and i cant get any of my DX9 titles to launch now? In the states i am sure you can find one in the mid to upper $300 range

Some flavour of GTX 970 is probably your best bet. I have the EVGA 4GB SSC with ACX 2.0 cooler. The fan shuts off under normal use and even under full load spins at 25%. That's an efficient and quiet card. SSC is basically a good factory overclock out of the box with full warranty. You could save some money with the reference clocked card.
The only issue I have is some coil whine if I'm in an old game that has frame rates of 200+ fps. I always cap rF1, GSC, AMS at 150-ish so that I don't have to hear then card whining when it's doing 700 fps in the menu screens.
It's likely a few months until the new Pascal cards arrive which is what I'm waiting for... a GTX 1070.

I get that whine with the 650, wasn't sure what it was from. I need to get a card soon as mine has started overheating after a couple of hours, and it's clean, so must be internal. I want something that will be a bit future proof, so a 900 series might be my best bet.

Dan, I will add a third thumbs up for the 970. I buy the same video cards Dale buys, they have served me well, both the 670 and now dual 970s. When Dale buys a 1070, I am sure I will follow suit at some point.

Just picked this up "EVGA GeForce GTX 970 04G-P4-3975-KR 4GB SSC GAMING w/ACX 2.0+, Whisper Silent Cooling Graphics Card" for $175.00 in box never opened.
Some one ordered it at my local PC repair shop, paid a down payment on it and never showed up, so I got it for what was left on the bill. It's good to wonder around and see what these places have from time to time.

Wow, that is an incredible deal. You will love that GPU. What kind of CPU are you running? You might want to doublecheck that it won't bottleneck the card.

That's the exact card Craig and I have. Most of the time the fan doesn't need to spin. Load up the card in a game and it might spin at 30%. Very efficient and quiet. Awesome deal.
