Hopefully this will open up the possibility of some rally cross content in the future

At first I thought it was an April fools joke, but that is a fairly extensive detailed video for a joke. I think it is real.
There is also an email for new members about it. I don't think they would try to recruit new members with a joke.

If it is real, then that must mean that they are closer to finalizing some of the other priorities: Like day night transitions. The full transition to DX 11 helps these things immensely, no?

DX11 opens the door to a lot of new possibilities. Based on the video, my guess is that Dirt oval is coming first.

I really thought the focus would be dirt ovals but they posted a point cloud of a rally X car on FB. Pretty cool.

If they go full on with the dirt tracks, and actually put other dirt racing disciplines in later, I might actually consider i-racing finally worth checking out.

Iracing is growing on me each day....it's physics and ffb have gotten much better in the last yr , personally not as good as rf2 and AMS but still very good and gives you all the cues needed. What stands out the most compared to other titles is the multiplayer and everything is just organized and ready to go. It boogles my mind that none of the other devs have followed suite. Dirt racing will be a great addition if they do rally/x or super trucks. Tho I don't really care for dirt ovals
The sim would be my go too if they licensed some more euro touring cars like dtm or the audi tt cup.....where and what happened to the civic and 3 British tracks they previewed 3 yrs ago?

Yes, yes very #soon.
Honestly though, I'm glad that they made the DX11 transition a priority. Once it's complete and working properly many things will open up. I also believe that DX11 and dynamic tracks probably took up most of their resources. ISRTV did an interview with Tony Hayes recently where they talked about how they are hiring more people.

Asides from eye candy (tesselation/HBSOA/ambient occlusion etc) and better performance what features and possibilities will open up down the road with the move to dx11? Dirt tracks/day to night transition and weather have all been done on dx9. With dx12 on the verge they should have just waited and gone that route and be ahead of the game for once, that's if the so called performance boost of dx12 lives up to expectations. Possibilities open up indeed but only if the old engine can handle new code added without screwing up other areas....this engine if I recall is pretty damn old
