I have a fairly decent wheel and pedals I think. It a Thrustmaster Ferrari F430 set. The main drag is there is no clutch pedal. I think I can get away with out a shifter but I'm finding its kinda hard to live with out the clutch pedal. So my question is, can I buy any Thrustmaster set of pedals to connect to my wheel? Or do they need to be purchased as a matching pair? And am I just better off selling what I have and starting with something that all matches up, wheel, shifter and pedals..

The answer is no. The pedals thrustmaster offers are only compatible with the T series wheels and will not with your F430. So your only option is to get a T series wheel and upgrade the pedals. Or you can upgrade your pedals with the fanatec clubsport V1, V2, or V3 or the car elites. The V3's are the only ones you can buy new from fanatec. The good thing about pic racing is all you need is a usb connection but for some reason thrustmaster does not offer a usb connection or an adapter.
For or what it is worth having a pedal set with a load cell brake is the best upgrade you can get. Triple screens are great and a servo wheel feels amazing but a load cell brake will make you a faster and more consistent driver.

A pedal setup upgrade that uses a load cell is going to be cheaper than hybrid hydraulic brake. There are a few choices out there but it seems Fanatec is the only company making a load cell brake pedal set in mass quantities. If you can find some lightly used G27 pedals then it's under USD$300 more to add a Perfect Pedal brake DIY kit and Bodnar USB cable. Then you've got no issues with load cell fatigue (or has Fanatec changed their design and that's not a problem anymore?). My pedals still work as good as the day I set them up over two years ago. The only drawback to G27s is that you need to open the base and squirt contact cleaner in the gas/clutch potentiometers about once a year. I swear one of these times I'm just going to drill an access hole in the pedal base...

No I don't have a shifter, or $400 for anything I'll just keep my eyes open of a good deal on a used setup that has the wheel, shifter and all three pedals. I'm just getting the idea that I can't easily do things as simple as coasting through corners without a clutch. Thanks again.

Ya I was gonna say if you don't have a shifter there's no point going for a pedal set with clutch as very few if any cars use paddle shifters and clutch

I'm just getting the idea that I can't easily do things as simple as coasting through corners without a clutch. I raced for a long time with a button on my wheel assigned to clutch. It works quite well in rF1 but I haven't tested in rF2. Should be the same though. There's a adjustable option (it's called digital axis or something) that sets how fast the assigned axis will engage/disengage to simulate a gradual pedal travel. Once you get the timing down there's no reason you won't launch within fractions of seconds of a clutch user. Clutch on sim pedals is sort of the worst of the three pedals when it comes to realism anyway. You need to feel the g-forces and hear the engine RPMs to properly use a clutch... it's a very tactile thing with a strong feedback loop in real life. There's simply no way to manage the bite point in the virtual world unless you have a fancy clutch with a two-stage travel but even then it's a kludge. tl;dr: try the button, it works well. Also, make use of the auto-clutch assist. I use it.
