This may be the first car I buy on day one. Private session on the ring anyone?

I'm down. We could even get in a public practice session. I ran a "24 hours du fun" at Spa that iRacing has set up. I think it's on every hour. Anyone down for that?
I'll be on the TS server tonight.

Hey guys, I have a buddy that I play Arma with and being an iRacing newb he's not sure what license levels the new Porsches start at.
Can someone let me know? My own iRacing account has been dormant for a while.

From what I can find, it's a C-class car (and intended to replace the C RUF). There appears to be an upcoming Porsche 911 GT3 Cup official series with minimum license class D (4.0).

That 24 heures du fun looks to be the best place to try out the Porsche right now. They change the track every day. Today it is at Sebring. Upcoming tracks are Suzuka, Bathurst, Interlagos, and Nurburgring Industriefahrten.

Upcoming tracks are Suzuka, Bathurst, Interlagos, and Nurburgring Industriefahrten. Yeah. It's been good fun. Lobbies are packed. Lots of incidents/accidents but most of that is people testing the limits of the car and the fact that it's open to all classes right now(I think). The sessions are unofficial so no harm to iRating or Safety rating.

The sessions are unofficial so no harm to iRating or Safety rating. That is why they can be a shitshow. More that, than testing limits of the car. There are no repercussions for taking a low percentage move. If they wreck, "Oh well so what, I'll just hop in another session. Who cares about everyone else I just took out." Aka, Forza Lobby mentality.

I love this car!!! The tire model is very good, in that I can feel what the car is doing through the wheel and I know when I am on the edge. I also can save it from certain disaster. I love that the car lacks ABS brakes, it means I cannot just stomp the brakes in the turns like I can with the Caddy. The engine sounds are just awesome, no better way to state it.
I am running the iRacing Porsche Cup this season. The participation is very high and the tracks tend to be the newer ones, whereas with the Caddy, I was stuck doing a lot of the older tracks due to the lower level of the series and the participation was more limited.

A few of us are planning on running it. I ran at Sebring last night. It was a pretty good session. There weren't too many incidents (none that affected me negatively) and I was in a race long battle with 2 other drivers. Good stuff.
Check the thread I started about this season.
