I want to run an exhibition with the new Radical SR3-RSX at Silverstone using the International layout. As soon as we can get the Radical mod installed on the server I will have it up and running.
This will be just for fun to test out this new mod. Tunes will be open and we will probably do 3 short races about 10-14 laps each.
The grid will be random for each race just to mix up the field a bit.
So you can start practicing offline now until the server is up and ready for racers.
FLAGS: Black Flags Only.
LAPS: Race 1 TBD Race 2 TBD Race 3 TBD
PIT: No mandatory pit stop
FUEL: Normal
TIRES: Normal tire wear / Your choice of tires (softs or hards)
DAMAGE: 50%
DRIVING AIDS: Auto Clutch only
Setups/Tuning: Open
Server: Online

Server is up and running but it is listed as GBR Race of Champions R8 instead of GBR Radical Exhibition. No idea why it is doing that but just connect to that one and you should be fine.
If you have any questions or suggestions please let me know.

I have to admit that I tested those cars after the release, and I didnt like it. Very weird and unnatural handling.
Will give it another go in the next few days.

Lightweight, rear-engine, low horsepower, stiff suspension, high down-force, stops on a dime. These Radicals couldn't be much more different than the V8s, could they? Between pills this afternoon, I tried out the rF2 VR beta for the first time with this at Silverstone. It was a good time, but its going to take a little time to get re-acclimated to a car like this.

Well hopefully you can come around on this car. I've always been a fan of the Radicals and loved to drive them in Race 07. I think Joe's description explains them perfectly. That's why we have exhibitions to work out any kinks and make sure it's a fun car to drive. I think these would be fun on smaller tracks like Silverstone International and one of my favorites Brands Hatch.

Great car and great track, I agree these would be fun on smaller tacks. I can't make it on the 2cd, it's my wife's birthday and that's a little too much to ask. Jim

Yep. Since it's an exhibition I didn't want to wait a week.

I've noticed I'm still running in DX9, how do you get the DX11 to work?

I had to go into the Properties menu on Steam, then the Betas tab and select hte DX11 open beta option there.

Thanks for stopping by last night guys. These cars are lots of fun and I had fun while it lasted. No idea what happened in race 2. My PC decided it was tired and just rebooted. My CPU fan was running pretty fast so I don't know if it was getting too hot and did an emergency reboot or what. This has only happened once before when I played DOOM for the first time running it on 3 screens. Rfactor2 has never caused my PC to overheat but I had noticed earlier in the evening while using my PC the fan was running pretty fast for just normal web surfing. My first plan of attack is to remove and re-apply some thermal paste. Fingers crossed!

Took all night, but I was finally able to give Hooper a little competition in the final race.

My first plan of attack is to remove and re-apply some thermal paste. Fingers crossed! It sounds like you need a new rig. Trust me, I know, from experience. Last night was a good time. These cars are funny. The default tune is really easy to drive, but when you start trying to tune to squeeze out more speed there's a fine line before it'll get really squirrelly. I'd tried to go down to a 4 with the rear wing and the rear end would fly away without much warning. I finally managed to work with it set to 5 for the race and that seemed to be a challenge but workable. The first race was forgettable for me, but the last 3 was a steady improvement. Last night was the first that I'd been on track in traffic with the Oculus Rift and that took some getting used to. Goes without saying it was different, and there a couple of drawbacks, but the realism and immersion is still pretty great. Being wheel-to-wheel with someone down Hangar and being able to turn your head and see them right there was very cool. Chasing someone into a braking zone was a pretty exciting feeling, too. There's definitely a real seat-of-your pants feeling when you're close to the limit with other traffic. The biggest improvement for me was being able to sense the rate of braking so much better than using monitors. I felt like there was a huge difference being able to sense the change in velocity. Without a doubt, VR made it easier to hit my marks more consistently and I think I was a bit faster for it. I don't know what the plan is next; if there's going to be more exhibitions or if we'll jump into another series. If we run these again, though, the Mores track might be fun in these. It's a short, twisty track with a little elevation change. I'd driven it a bit before in single-player mode in a 911 and it felt to me like what you might get if someone tried to build a miniature Imola.

Now that I am completely moved in, got my pc set up, and have my new pedals hard mounted and ready to go, I will able to make the next race whenever it is!
