I've said a prayer and burnt an offering to the USB driver and Oculus gods. See you in there.
I hope.

Currently seeing 2 of the server it seems...?.. One shows 27 supposed cars in it. None there when I entered (had to use password) The other appears not to have a pw attached, but I didn't try it. Shows 0 in server.
..not sure what's up, but all servers have been showing weird numbers in the last few days or so, at least.

Man, I tell ya....if there was a large-ish grid for this race, that would have been a blast. Felt very comfortable with the car come race time (finally). The lead pack, I couldn't keep up...found myself alone after running off in the chicane trying to get on past Scott as we got started there. A bit brazen, but at least I kept her off the walls But yeah, as the race progressed I lost focus. Kept thinking, if there was another pack or two of cars on similar pace this would be as awesome as it seems to be up front. Eventually lost the car amid some other thoughts and dipped out (again)...later racing for me, need the wheel to wheel stimulus to keep me in it.

Kind of bummed we only had 7 drivers and then down to 4 half way through the race. I was able to stay with the top 3 for a few laps but then Dale and Boza were gone. So I spent about 20 laps hotlapping.
I'm at a loss on how to get more drivers. Maybe our next series will be GT cars to try and attract some people back and some new blood.

Drivers are too spread out....too many choices out there. The over saturation is the biggest grid killer. Like I said, I'd have stayed, but just didn't feel like doing laps alone. With a larger field of cars there would have been some on similar pace (in theory) and we'd have seen multiple packs that looked similar to what was going on up front (I assume, was watching only through split timer) ..not sure how one would attract new drivers. Currently, just got done finalizing and publishing series details with my Tuesday night league. Question, do you guys ever race on Tuesday nights? Also, where could I share an invite to race with us for you guys and is that cool here? 2 days after I announced the series and we've already got 21 sign ups. Just sort of wondering if any here would be interested in joining if they could. (At the Virtual Experience Portal, you can create an organization that will show on their community list and league listings. Might help to add info for here there. Have to log in through Steam, then you can create at will. Might get some eyes on the racing here that way. A few other sites I can share links to if you guys want to advertise a bit. < not sure that you don't already, just saying)

Part of our challenge with numbers is that we've always been a fairly tight community and more word-of-mouth and invite-only rather than open to all. We do manage to attract members through word of mouth but they often drift away.
20 members have logged into the forum in the last 60 days. If we could get even 75% of those guys at a race, we'd be in good shape. However, we know real life has taken over for at least 7 of those names, add in a few more that dont' want to race anymore and our numbers are down dangerously low.
I'm a member of another league where participation is suffering. That league is a Sunday one and we've tried to cross-promote each other but it rarely generates consistent participation for some reason. Maybe small league simracing just isn't so popular anymore.

What sim are you using for your series? Some people here race on Tuesday nights at Spazcar which focuses on oval racing.

Hi Jason. Hello gentlemans. All know that I dropped the V8 season because of real life. I will race in JasonĀ“s league at CMS, on Tuesdays, but Im beggining not knowing if I will finish it. Jimmy, AMS will be used, and the season will be with that Porshe 911 1974 the we tested some time ago, but people prefered the Flat6 in the end. I will let Jason talk about links and etc.
I aways loved to race here at GBR, but at the same I have to be honest. Its very hard to motivate and then race with grids of just 6 or 7 cars. This is happening for quite a while here, unfortunately.

What sim are you using for your series? Some people here race on Tuesday nights at Spazcar which focuses on oval racing. Saw that today. Just wanted to ask first. Didn't/don't want anyone to think I was trying to come over here and steal drivers away. Anyways, as Angelo said, we'll be using AMS. We've actually got two series going and this will be our first series using AMS. Races will be every other Tuesday night at 9pm EST, starting January 23. (I'll post details with a post where you've directed me) Mainly, I wanted to extend the invite in some way, to you guys here. What time I've been able to manage to keep up for more than 2 minutes, I've seen that the racing is as it should be. Clean, tough, respectful. All the good stuff we look for in guys to race with. I think you'd all be pleased to see our crowd resembles this one a lot...tight knit, small-ish. Our core group is dedicated like the one here appears to be, albeit a bit larger at this time. Obviously this splits off into sub groups as some use their own ts channels and such when we race...others don't at all. I think you guys would intermingle over there well...and of course, who doesn't like 20-25+ cars on track (23 registrations for the new series in 2 days!) ....and even better, with respectful guys that you can [for the most part] trust on track to drive as we should. Rules are semi strict (mostly just common sense stuff though) so it tends to naturally weed out the lesser desired drivers. We've got a whole group of older drivers and we even do a "seniors points championship" with most series (this AMS series included) so that gives some of the guys we don't typically see up front more to focus on and enjoy. Anyways, I'm taking up space here in a thread I shouldn't really be posting this sort of thing in. Thanks for asking and providing a platform. I'll make my way to the general discussion area and post some details for any of you that might be interested. Hope to see you there.

I find for myself the interest is not what it used to be. I am not the type to spend hours practising just to screw up in a race and spend lap after lap running by myself. If I do get into a race it is with a car I like and on a track that I know and do not have to learn. Most of the GBR crew who run are way out of my league so finishing well or even racing with another is not likely to happen. That is my problem not anyone else's. I find it much easier to fire up the PS4 and play a game by myself. I do not like to leave in the middle of a race as I can cause stutter for others. That is why I am not around a lot. Keep up the good work guys. Maybe a Saleen Mustang series again. Easy, fun and competitive.

It's funny what attracts drivers and what doesn't. Some of us race in a iRacing league called Pacific Majors that used to be Western US and Canada only. Once they opened up to the rest of the world their signups shot up to almost 900(!) (note that they race multiple sessions by geographic regions with splits in each region to accommodate all racers).
Jason, Tuesday is my non-racing night but I may sign up and drop in from time to time.
