This may be my last hoorah for a while. I was just informed my hours will be changing on 3/5. I might be able to make a couple more races after that date, but no promises. But in the meantime, BRING ON BATHURST!

Hopefully we get a good turnout for the big dog. It would be nice to finish the season with a good race. Quick turnaround though due to the reschedule of Johannesburg.

Gotta thank Boza for the win last night. After botching the first lap in a couple places, I was playing catch up. Had a blast running down Jason. While I was closing that gap, I was noticing we were both catching Dale & Boza who were going back and forth from lap 1. Then Boza got all up in Dale's rear and off they went to play in the sand at the end of Conrod w/ about 4 laps to go. Reeled the gap to under a second on Jason with a couple to go, hoping to apply a little pressure. Started noticing he would lock up a front here and there. Mission accomplished, now to try to keep it up. I caught the break I needed entering T2 at the end of Mountain Straight where Jason went a hair too deep into the braking zone and couldn't get it turned in. I slipped up the inside and tried not to screw up too badly and let him back by. Jason stuck to my bumper all the way over the mountain, and didn't drop back until L/R after Conrod when it looked like he gave her a little too much juice and kicked the ass end way out. He rounded it up and hung on for 2nd, only 2.4 seconds back even after the offroad excursion. I think this may have been my first win at the Mountain in the V8s here...granted we were short some notables, such as the Mountain Man Hooper, Ricardo, & Angelo. Thanks for putting these together Jimmy. I'm probably going to be a little scarce over the next couple months as my work schedule is changing. I may be able to make races through March (going to 4am start), but after that all bets are off as my work shift will be starting at midnight for a couple months.

I had a feeling that battle with Boza wasn't going to see both of us reach the line. We were fighting like cats and dogs from the first corner and I seemed faster in Sectors 1 and 3 but Boza was faster in the middle up and over the mountain. Before the accident we'd traded places several times. It was fun while it lasted Too bad Ricky wasn't here as we may have had a good 3-way battle which might have made Boza and me settle down a bit.

Sorry I didn't get in here earlier for a post race report. Was an absolute blast! Finally figured this car out a bit. Realized that heel/toe technique is used/needed in these cars and it made all the difference in the world in terms of balance and not locking up near as much. Anyways, I somehow managed to find myself in the lead after P1 and 2 got together (can't even remember where now)... Got quite nervous when I realized Chris was catching me. Started making small mistakes, locking up more often..etc. Going into turn 2 and at that point Chris was right on my heels. I've got a bit of DIY kit (an Audi A4 tiptronic shifter that I modified for use in the sims) and it's in a rather large box that I built around it. It's not mounted but is generally really stable given the weight of the box it's housed in. After slamming around on the gears all night the shifter box had developed a bit of "play" and was slowly loosening itself from the area I have it jammed into. That's what happened in T2. Downshifted but missed on as the slack in the shifter had me thinking I'd completed the shift. Only while tracking off into oblivion did I realize that I'd missed a shift...car was just coasting towards the wall...lol. And right on by Chris went :/ Dammit! Was no catching him after that. He was much faster in sector 3 and I'd already planned to defend that area on that final lap (not sure I'd have prevailed there either) but such is racing. Anyways, always a blast at Bathurst and these cars are just absolutely insane. They frustrate me but I'm going to miss them. Congrats to Chris on the win and to the series champion as well. Thanks for the racing guys! See you for the next series.
