So with about a week to go, I'm curious who's in? I know some of you don't like FWD cars but I have a decent tune for the front wheel drive car I can share if that helps anyone make the decision. I made it for the Cruze but it will work for all FWD cars in this mod.

I'll be in for most of the series. Going to miss the first race though due to my work schedule. Starting week of the 16th I'll be starting shift at midnight, so I'll be able to catch the races in the "morning". Right now the races run too late w/ me having to get up at 1:45am for work. I'll be running a Focus.

Testing the car for the first time this morning. Took the Ford out to Brands for a few laps. Getting some weird ffb. Almost like it's inverted, but not all the time (if that makes any sense) Thrustmaster user. Not sure how to invert ffb to see if that is the issue (I don't think it is, doesn't have the typical reversed ffb feel to it, not completely) Odd though, I get this with no other FWDs in any sims that I typically use. Throttle as I exit a corner and have this feeling I'm being pulled into the corner, like a sort of steering assist almost. I'd chalk it down to FWD, but as I said, it's not an affect I get in, say, AMS...where I am currently doing a touring car series elsewhere. Hope to find a solution, as otherwise the car seems pretty cool (in that, this thing sounds like a vacuum cleaner sort of way )

I know exactly what you are talking about and I think it is the fact that some of these are FWD. But I don't know that for certain.

I agree with the feel, I just attributed it to FWD . I run a Fanatec and have the same feeling. I did minimize it some in the tune but I can not remember what I did , I think I messed with the toe. In and out of the front and back. I am running 1 front and 2 in the rear

I've never liked FWD in rF2 but the FFB is this mod is a little odd... it's really picking up the variations in the track asphalt.
Anyway... try messing with the caster (not camber). It makes a big difference in how the steering feels with little to no effect on the suspension. On the BMW I lowered it 2 or 3 clicks.

But the BMW is RWD, yes? So the feel is [should] be different.
Reading around...some trying to claim the effect is "torque steering". Perhaps, but it's a bit much if that is the case.
It's like throttle while turning equals more turning (all the while the ffb is dropping off, even if I'm not sliding the fronts)...makes no real sense and is not something I've felt in other touring cars and various FWD I've drove in other sims (or in the real world, for that matter)
The car should track out on acceleration. It's what FWD does. Sure, I can set it up to be loose (these seem loose right out of the gate though, so not really necessary) and get rid of some of the piggish behavior, but it doesn't change the weird, being "drawn through" the corners effect.
I don't know. I'll work with it today, try the toe thing, try a few other things I read on some forums (reduce ffb min torque and a few other little things) and will see if it helps.
The car is drive able, even with the issue, just feels really strange and I hope I can rectify it rather than trying to adapt to it (not sure I'm willing to adapt to incorrect behavior of the car)
Drove a lot of FWD in my life, quite a few of them "on the limit", real world side. Never once have I had the effect I get from this mod, even if/when breaking the limits of adhesion.
Take a spin in the AMS Marcus cars....THAT is what FWD feels like at speed IRL.
Over at Steam, some claiming the "lack of canned effects" is the reason for the weird feeling ffb, and that in the real world this is what FWD feels like. I begin to question the credibility of such people when they say crap like that...just talking out the rear, seemingly no experience in FWD or something. *shrugs.

But the BMW is RWD, yes? So the feel is [should] be different. Yes of course. Ignoring all the other quirks of FWD and what the sim is trying to replicate, what I'm getting at is that for any car, small changes in caster affect the steering feel a lot so it's worth a try. Although RWD, I did not like the default caster on the BMW. It felt like the wheel was being tugged too much for track effects and not enough for car dynamics.

I'll give that a shot and see what comes of it. Hoping to spend a bit of time with these this evening so I should know at some point before the day is over if any changes are effective.

Well, multiple adjustments and combinations of adjustments to toe/caster/camber, mixed with adjustments to ffb minimums, still cannot get these things to feel anything near correct. It's like there is some kind of canned effect coming through in the steering when I press the throttle. Almost feels like steering assist, a lot like it, actually.
Tried the Toyota, rather than the Ford this time. But, while I could feel a difference in the car physics wise, the effect of "being tugged along" is still overwhelming.
I might bow out of this one, though I apologize for the later notice. While I love to race touring cars, I don't always spend a ton of time practicing with them, so was a bit late getting some laps in. Sorry about that.

The good news is that the FWD and RWD cars seem well matched in this mod. In the Focus I was only 0.5 sec off my pace in the BMW and I'd tuned the BMW... Focus was on the default setup.

Hopefully we will get a few more before the start of the race. Jason if you want I can send you a FWD setup to try to see if it helps. Just let me know

I'll try it out, see if won't stop the weird feeling. Anything's worth a shot at this point and I'm not one to give up, so...
