That was fun guys thanks guys. Sorry about screaming I should have muted the mic. I'll make sure I censor with press to talk next race. I really like these cars and I like the format. The reverse grid is a good idea. The third race was fun until the 2cd to last corner. Jeff you never let up and were closing on me in the last couple laps, I really roasted my tires and then was up on two wheels on one of the last laps. I think my computer got a little too hot, going to have to turn things down a bit. Anyway sorry again for the scream and I had a blast. Thanks you guys

The racing was fun but lonely. I'm fighting a cold and couldn't focus enough to stay with Jeff but was quicker than those behind me so I was lapping mostly solo. In Race 3 I experimented with the Medium tire to see if it would work better near the end of the race but I spun twice, gave up on that idea and pitted for Soft tires.
Well done to Jim T. You were in a class by yourself tonight.

A few months ago I installed a Solid State Drive into my PC. I haven't run RF2 since installing the new SSD until recently. My PC rebooted in race 1 and race 3 due to something overheating. I ran the entire Porsche series at CMS in AMS with no issues. Not sure if it is the DX11 that is causing something to run too hot or what.
When my PC rebooted during race 1 I lowered all of my graphic settings so when I finished race 2 I thought I had my issues sorted. But then at the end of race 3 it rebooted again. I need to see if I can find out which part of my PC is overheating. I have no idea if it is the gpu, cpu, ssd or what.

Guess I should have paid more attention to the race details :/ Didn't realize there was a race 3. Apologies for cutting out. Just wasn't a good race night for me. Initially, I was worried with the issues I'd had with the feel of this mod. Then Jim sent me a setup, but not before I'd realized I was committed elsewhere in a race that should have been over about the time these started. So I hopped over to the other place, put in some laps and started the race. I made it off the line, car ahead stalled, car behind me destroyed my car. HA! Quickly jumped into rF2 and tossed the setup Jim sent me on the car. It definitely helped with the feel, stopped a lot of the "torque steer" and made the car driveable. Of course, quite hard to jump out of a twitchy, planted DTM styled car to this thing. Jeez, this car suddenly felt like a land boat in comparison and my brain wasn't having it. Sloppy in Race 1, ended up off in the wall with some damage. Car became a mess and I exited out. Race 2 was basically the same..tried to tone it down a notch, but I apparently didn't. Screwed that up too. Offs just kept coming, I banged the barriers a few times and finally called it quits. Probably would have been the same for Race 3 but I'd have stuck around anyways had I realized it. But, now I have a setup to work from, so maybe some time in the car before the next round and I'll be sorted. Pretty sure I can stay on pace in these cars, once I get comfortable with it. We'll see. See you guys next time.

I need to see if I can find out which part of my PC is overheating. I have no idea if it is the gpu, cpu, ssd or what. MSI Afterburner is a nice little tool for monitoring all that. You can also adjust fan curves and many other things with the tool and some associated tools for more in depth stuff. Perhaps at least it would allow you to see what is overheating. With rF2 I do notice a lot more GPU heat. Not sure a GPU overheating would cause an actual physical reboot though. But, afterburner lets you see CPU heat as well (I'd think that overheating would be a more likely cause of reboot, but maybe not) AMS is very very easy on GPU. Just an old GTX 660 here and I hardly ever see it using more than about 50% of the card (everything maxed) so not much heat. rF2 (and at times AC) usually run my GPU at about 80%, sometimes a bit more depending on car/track/numbers, etc. To reduce heat overall, and also so I don't have to concern myself with it when racing (peace of mind) I use afterburner to adjust my GPU fans. I just set them at about 75% and let them run constantly. I hate that back and forth powering on and off of fans in a pc, drives me nuts listening to it, like a jet in my ear or something I've never had issue doing that, and personally (though I have no proof) I think that the constant surge and backing off as the fan is being told to speed up or slow down is probably harder on the parts than just setting it and letting it run. Not sure, but nearly a few years of just setting GPU fan to about 75% and no issues with malfunctioning GPU (yet. *knocks on wood because GPU prices are ridiculous right now!)

Thanks Jason. I will get MSI Afterburner and see what is going on. My GPU has an aftermarket 3 fan set on it so I think it is my CPU that is getting too hot. I will probably end up getting an all in one hydro cooling fan for it this weekend. Frys is only about 10 minutes from my house so that makes things like this a bit easier to deal with.

I can't get it to work no matter what I do. Is there some secret or whet? I haven't downloaded it yet so I don't know how to get it setup. I was going to look into that this weekend but first I have to figure out what is causing my pc to overheat and reboot when using rfactor 2.
