Now my main monitor is messing up. When I start my PC the power button goes from yellow to a flashing blue and hangs there, no picture. But when I turn off the PC right as it powers down the monitors splash screen pops up and goes away, then it stays flashing blue for a bit then goes to yellow standby mode. It's supposed to go from yellow, flash blue long enough to figure out which input to bring up then go solid blue and work.
Now after 3 or 4 restarts it will come up and work fine till I shut it down again. It's not the vid card, I switch monitors around and it's still the only one doing it. Any ideas?

Have you tried manually selecting the input vs. auto-detect?

In order to do that the screen has to be on, and it will not stay on manual once it's shut down. So yes, my answer is yes, I have tried that. Sorry for the long answer. lol. And I don't remember the model #, but it's a 27 in. ASUS Q 275 or something like that if that helps.

I've had similar things happen but a reboot or full shutdown always resolved my issue. Not exactly helpful.
Are the video card drivers up to date?

Drivers are up to date. And I always do a full shut down when not in use. And it's random apparently, as it came right up today.
And it's an ASUS VE276. Just FYI.

Just found a mad sale on TV's, got a 43in. 4K UHD TV for $169. Yhat's cheaper then a new 27in. monitor.. Anyone here ever used a TV on your PC? I wonder how it would look?

TVs (especially cheap ones) can have unacceptable lag for gaming due to slow image processing time. If you can return it without hassle it's worth a try I guess. Make sure it's true 4K and not just 4K inputs resampled to 1080p display.
For your current monitor you could maybe try a different input in case the problem is on HDMI and not DVI for example.
The way you describe the issue I wonder if it's a bad solder joint or a bad capacitor. Easy to check when it's on my bench... not so easy over the interwebs.

I run it with DVI, but it dose have HDMI and a Display port. So next time it wont come up I'll try one of those and see what happens. Thanks for the suggestions Dale.

Something that article doesn't mention is that many HDTVs have some form of non-defeatable image processing (even after you've turned everything off). Windows Explorer looks like ass on my HDTV because of the small black text on a white background. The TV tries to reduce the contrast.

Don't forget about the Soap Opera Effect (SOE) with HDTV's too. I always turn that off.

So far it hasn't done it again. But I found a Dell 32" monitor on sale and ordered it just in case.
