The next Enduro is just around the corner. The general consensus is we are going to run the GT3 cars this go around. Our options will be either the Audi R8 or AMG SLR. Speak up if you'd like to take part, and also what your preferred car is so we can try to team up drivers with preferred cars. Target is teams of 3. AUDI R8 GT3- Chris S. - Ian R. AMG SLR GT3- Sheldon W. - Dave F. - Boza No preference- Rory G. - Dale G. - Rich M.

I'm in but need assistance. I don't own either car so I need some opinions. I know Chris doesn't like the MB and I think one or two others on Saturday said the same, but others seem to like it. If you have a minute, please give me your thoughts on which I should buy. I'm leaning towards the Audi since I am a VW Group fan but I'd rather buy the better car. Cheers

The Audi is a bit more lively and less forgiving. It's not that is hard to drive, but you have to be more fluid. It doesn't like to be thrown around. The MR layout gives the Audi more of a feel of the GTE cars (Ford/Ferrari), except a little slower and with ABS. I prefer the wail of the V10 over the rumble of the M-B's V8.
The M-B is definitely more forgiving to drive, and I think needs to be driven a little more aggressively to get it to turn in. With my typical gentler turn ins the M-B tends to drive like a dump truck for me. Sheldon loves it though, and gets around quite well.
Hopefully others will provide you some more insight on their opinions between the cars.

Audi paint knocked out. Going to try to get the AMG busted out as well.

I'd love to join you guys for this one, if that's ok. I know it has been a while. I moved out and took a while to get the rig back going. But I'm fully at it again right now.
I'll take the R8 or Merc wherever you need me.
Personally I'm more of a GTE cars fan. I really liked the Ford and am currently driving the Porsche RSR a lot. GTE's feel more fun to drive and less "on the rails". No ABS can be a tire eater though.
Cheers guys!

Cheers I own both and have no preference. The Audi gets a lot of hate because an update several seasons ago really slowed it down. I don't have enough time in the Merc to form an opinion. *shrug*

I was actually driving the MB the other day w/ a tune I got from Jimbo. It actually was pretty decent to drive (so I retract my dump truck statement). I still prefer the Audi...if for no other reason than 3/4 of the GT3 field will be the AMG. If both cars had similar representation it would probably be a bit of a toss up for me now.

I went with the AMG based on comments here and on the forum. Once others chime in we can form the teams. I plan to be available to start the race, preferably doing a stint and then taking a break to manage the kids while my wife is at school. I'm fairly flexible the entire day (for once).

With Rory and Dale we need to get two more to get three teams. Rich seemed interested.

When is the start of the race? Should be similar to Bathurst. The session should open up 6 AM MST and the race approximately 6:45 AM MST.
