My preferences would be TCR or Cup. I think GT3 & GT4 will be the popular classes.
If we look GT3, I would say BMW or Ferrari (don't think many here have the 488 though).

I'm fairly flexible for this event in terms of the car but would like to nail down our choice quite soon as I've driven zero laps here since the tires got updated.

Just a reminder, the Ring 24 is just around the corner. We've got enough to run...but wouldn't mind a couple more.
We are running the Porsche GT3 Cup again this year.

I suck something awful right now, but hopefully in the future I can help out the GBR team over at iRacing.

Heck yeah. Once iRacing got the 12-24HR endurance team races, I finally got pulled into iR as my sim of choice (wasn't the case for the first few years). We do it mostly for fun...and have actually had some successes. Would love to have you once your comfortable in the sim. It really does add a whole new element to sim racing. It's pretty freaking awesome.
Feel free to ask questions, particularly if you are just getting rolling in it. It can be pretty expensive in the beginning, but it does get better. You can also maximize your value by planning ahead and taking advantage of the bulk discounts.

Hey guys. I have always been interested in doing a 24h race at some point. I am not sure if this is the race to try for my first one. Getting around the 'Ring once is a challenge, let alone doing it for hours. I do not even have the content right now, but I will probably have it by Monday.

No worries Cam. Endurance races are our jam. I know Lemans is coming up in June, and I think the Spa 24 is May(?), I'll have to double check that one. Spa is a GT3 only race, either the Audi or BMW are the most likely candidates right now. But that one is a little ways out yet.
I'll get you guys invites to the team we'll be using for the races...then if you guys wanted to drop in and watch & chat with us over the course of the day you will be able to.

OK, I'm in. I have the content. I can do some practice on the track this week. I need more info about how to do driver swaps, who is going to be in the car and when, do we have to use the same set, etc. Please tell me what I need to know.

Haha. Nice. I sent you some info on Messenger. I'll get you added to the driver roster tomorrow and have you plug in your available time. Finalized schedule will likely be out Thursday evening. Hmmm, I guess I should say later today as it's after midnight. Just finished running few laps around the Ring with a pint.

We should find an open team session on a small track (or just launch a 30 minute server) with Cam and just do laps swapping him in and out. Cam, off the top of my head here are tips in no order: - Exit the car before a teammate enters. We can force a driver out but it's been claimed that that is more risky to game/pit glitches. - Enable auto fuel/tires in the %DOCUMENTS%\iRacing\app.ini file so that you're set for full service entering the pits and deselect auto fast repair (doesn't matter for most official races, only leagues with fast repair enabled autoResetFastRepair=0 ; Automatically request fast repair service once your vehicle exits pit road
autoResetPitBox=1 ; Automatically request full pit service once your vehicle exits pit road - Check your pit limiter many, many times in the pit lane. It can get toggled during a driver change. - Map a chat button to the chat string #cl fr fl rr rl ws fuel 666l that's the macro command for full service. 666 can be anything as long as it's more than the fuel capacity. If you don't have a human spotter, it's a good practice to hit your button after crossing the pit entry line but before arriving at your box. - We will almost always take Optional Repairs every time we pit as those can be aero or cooling related BONUS: More than you wanted to know about pit macros but they're really handy to preload some pit strategies www.edracing.com/edr/iRacing-Macros.php
