www.ebgames.com/xbox-360/games/dirt-showdown/100469Please tell me some of you guys are getting this. It's not a Sim, but it's going to be fun as hell to run some races where we can hit and bump as part of the race. It's coming for X-box and PS3, no PC as of yet, that I've seen. I'll be getting the x-box version as will Timberwolf. And Codiah at some point after launch.

I'm at game/sim saturation now. I haven't even touched Skyrim since a couple of days after buying it This would be a bargain bin buy for me if you guys are still playing it by then.

@ Jarhead, I'll let everyone know what I think about it.
@ F1fan, I can see that happening sometime down the road to me also, but remember, I don't actually have a day job.

Same here, I played Skyrim for a couple of days then downloaded rFactor, something I had put on hold as I was spending so much time preparing for 2O4F series racing...now I need 48 hours in a day just to find the time for sim racing...though a lot of time is being spent just working out rFactor and that will give me back some time when it is second nature. I also have Dirt, Grid, F1 2010/11 PGR and Need for speed...no time for any of 'em LOL

Well, I've messed around on the Demo, It only has one track. From what I've seen there are 3 modes, Hoonigan (A form of racing and Gymkhana mixed), Demolition Derby(Standard and Knock out), and strait up Racing. The Demo only has the racing in it. But it's what we down south call wreckin' racin'. The object is to come in first, but your encouraged to push and or beat your opponents out of your way. Reminds me of FLATOUT, but very polished and smooth. It's the type of game where you grab a beer and just go let off some steam, and, I'm sure, have some laughs. And with all the serious racing we do here, I could use some fun, and not so serious racing. I'm definitely buying it. If anything, I can do some split screen with a friend locally.
I'll give a better review after I have the full version. But if this one track is a good bench mark, It's gonna be fun.

Been messing with this game since about 8pm last night, It is now 6:30am. And I only took a break to tell you about it. It is an Arcade Racer, but the cars handle so well and turn and slide in all the right places. so you will forget about it as you play. The asphalt sections handle like GRID and DiRT3 Rallycross. The snow and dirt sections are right out of DiRT3 as far as handling goes.
It consists mostly of Racing, Demo and Hoonigan (Gymkhana).
Racing has 2 main stiles, Racing strait out with ramps and obstacles on the track, And 8 Ball (Figure 8 type courses, wreckin' racing).
Racing I almost killed it here.
8 Ball
Demo Derby has 2 stiles, Standard and Knock Off (Raised demo area).
Demo, knock off stile.
Hooning (Gymkhana) is way better here than DiRT3, mainly because you have a set course and are racing head 2 head. Not allot of this that you have to do though, about 25%.
Hooning
All modes are multi player also. Their are more modes, but I have yet to do them, such as gate crasher. It comes with an on-line access code, so if you get it used, you will have to purchase it. But @ $39.95 a new one is not bad. Game Stop and the store brands under them are selling it for that price. Wal-Mart wants $59.95 for theirs.
All in all, a very fun, addictive game. So if any of you get it and want to goof off on it for a while, I have it for X-Box, GT= x2O4FxWhitewolf
By the way, Damage graphics on this game are fricken' sweet!!!

The good news is that I downloaded the demo for Dirt Showdown on my PC and loved it. My Fanatec CSR Elite wheel and the triple screens at 5760 X 1200 worked perfectly. I loved the demo so much that I decided to buy the full game off Steam. Well, the bad news is that the game does not work with my Elite wheel. It locks up when I try to map the controls. It also doesn't work with my triple screens. The image is stretched. WTF??? The demo works great, but the actual game doesn't?

The ONLY thing I don't like about this game. No in car view. but, if you think about it, hood view is probably best as the hood gets bent up in front of the window. ;D

Well, I got my triple screens to work by lowering the eye candy. Unlike the demo, the full screen at 5760 X 1200 is not playable. But, my Elite wheel still does not work. To make matters worse, I cannot get the game to save.
Codemasters released a totally broke game, at least for the PC. I like the game, I just cannot play it. If they can fix the save issue, I can live with using the controller. Its a nice diversion.

I finally got the game to work by re-installing it. No wheel support, but thats not a big deal. Its an arcade racer anyway that is better played using a controller.
