Reminder, Spa is this Sunday... we changed the date because of Father's Day. See the Spa thread.

Luckily it's Spa which you can probably drive with your eyes closed. A few laps to tune and find braking points and you're good to go!

Hopefully I can find my groove. I need to get me some 190E for retribution at Bathurst. ;D

Hehehe... unless Kelly was sandbagging I think the 190E is stronger here than I thought. I get caught pretty quick on the Kemmel Straight (Kelly was 17 km/h faster) but all the way down the hill from Malmedy I think I pick up fractions in each corner.

My Volvo choice may not be a good one here...but I want to quietly hang onto the back of the grid anyway as I find my feet in this new world of rFactor. I know when I first started in forza over at 2O4F I was lapped twice in my first race, fully expect the same here. But not for long :-)

The Volvo is a very good car. On the straights it's about even with the Sierra, not to far behind the Holden & Mustang and fairly predictable in the corners. The M3 & Alfa are probably the hardest to drive fast. The Alfa mainly because it likes to "turtle" if you get too aggresive w/ the curbs, which is about the only reason I passed on it. ;D The M3 because you have to make you're time in the corners, and BTW, in case you haven't discovered already, the M3 has a 6spd trans. Another fav of mine is the M635csi, though there is a little technique you have to get used to in order to get through certain corners quickly.

Cheers Fred, yeah I put in a lot of practice and consistency was the key for that one. I was lapping within a second of of my best lap all the way. Fingers crossed I can do the same in the BMW :-)

Starting to get the hang of this now, best times down in the low 43's and I did manage one freak 42 when I went into turn 17 way too hot and somehow managed to keep it together, but never gone through with that speed since without taking a trip into the kitty litter. Thank goodness I did that off line or I would have been in a artificial grid position, and I am very cautious on cold tires. Makes so much more difference in rFactor as compared to Forza. Consistency is still not where I need it to be and that is key in a race, hare and tortoise syndrome can sure come into play in a race, as long as the hare crashes of course :-)
