Heh, go into a sand trap here and you'll spend half the race and blow up your engine getting back out.

Ooh thought I would pick up this track from where I left off from earlier race games...not so. The Volvo feels really skittish through the Cranor curves and the old haipin, and Coppice is far more tricky than I remember. I cannot find a race groove at all.

Aha! So after the fun and games with the wheel I was testing it with all my race games just to make sure it was back to full working order, I used the full rFactor install and the FF felt fine, I switched to this mod and it was totally different...So I did a clean install of rF lite, stuck in this mod and the FF felt fine and that twitchyness disappeared. Every cloud has a silver lining.

I see a couple of comments about the sand traps. Is it bad enough you want a different track? I don't find this a hard track to stay on the black stuff though.

I know with Donnington version I have with Enduracers, you can get out with no issues.

Good to know. I'll test both tonight and make a decision.

If you do end up in the sand, that is your race over. I swear you will be a lap or even two down before you get out.

I tested it again tonight in Enduracers and unless each mod treats the track differently, I buried my Vette in every sandbox on the track, went down to neutral and then drove my way out of each one. It wasn't super quick but I never cooked the motor.
Now this is in the version of Donnington that I downloaded for Enduracers so not sure if what F1 has is the same as mine but there you have it.
Cheers!

Looks like we only have one version: Donington_TL_v1.0. I'll go test.

OK... it takes 15-30 seconds to get out of the sand but it's no worse than some other tracks. I just eased my way out by feathering the clutch and didn't get the engine too hot.
The sand is no where near as nasty as Bathurst.

Hmm okay, I suppose that kind of nastiness is par for the course then. It took me longer on one occasion and my engine certainly got very hot but I guess the answer is to stay out the bleedin things
