Hey guys, check this out. I noticed it today at ISR's site. I emailed Darin and Shaun to thank them, and I got a nice note from Darin. They are going to send me an ISR sticker for winning my split. Woohoo, my moment in the spotlight... www.mediafire.com/view/?mpofyb6opav95qmNice job Craig. Congratulations.

Thanks guys, it will probably be a year or two before I win again and so I will enjoy this one. I am on my way to the store to get a frame for my certificate.

Put it up in your office beside your degree "Oh, I see you went to the School of... iRacing?!"

Guys, Hawks has set the tone with his CSW videos being covered all over the sim racing world. I am carrying on his legacy, albeit in a small way. Check out this weeks' ISR episode, at about the 18 minute mark they announce the split winners and my name is in there. I just saw it this morning, very cool!!! I tried to embed the video, but I could not remember how to do it correctly here at GBR.

Nice Craig. That is damn impressive. I can't even keep that freakin Caddy on the track for an entire lap.
Great job.

Nice Craig. That is damn impressive. I can't even keep that freakin Caddy on the track for an entire lap. Great job. Hawks, its the weirdest thing, but the Caddy, now that they have improved it, just agrees with me. I cannot explain why I feel so comfortable driving it. I also feel very comfortable with the Impala NASCAR Class A and B cars and Class C Camping World Truck. Bash and some of the other guys were giving me a hard time at the last GBR iRacing event, which I think I finished third in. Someone asked, "why can't you race this well in Forza?" I just don't know. I love Forza, but I just have never figured out how to drive fast in that game. Its not that I am fast in iRacing, because I am not, hence my relatively low iRating. But, I do feel comfortable in iRacing, much more so than in Forza.

Simple answer craig. You're a sim racer. Forza is to arcadish for you. It tries to make you think you are driving a Sim..so it confuses you're brain with its arcade physics

I have been playing the game since Forza 1 was released (I probably bought it on release day in 2004, just as I bought Forza 2, Forza 3 and Forza 4 on their respective release dates), but I have never been fast.

OK, but how is that other guys, including you, Bash and Helios, are much faster in Forza? Don't know mate. Don't know if it comes from having driven a lot of autox and a few track days, being able to "let the car go". In other words, allowing the car to run where it wants to go, while giving directional input, versus "forcing" the car to turn.....particularly on corner exit. That mentality/mindset applies to any driving game I run.....probably why I suck horribly on full on arcade games (NFS HP for example). At least w/ GT5 & FM3/4 they do use a real world derived physics engine. Yes it may not be as accurate, but the same general mentality is carried over. If that makes any sense.
