That's because Windows sees no filesystem on the drive.
Run (command prompt or Run... box and there's 3 or 4 other ways to get there too) diskmgmt.msc. Right-click on the drive and it should be pretty obvious from there. I forget the exact wording but you may need to bring it Online and then Create Volume... from there it's pretty obvious (format as NTFS and accept the defaults).

well i gotta say moving the games was just a cut & paste affair easy as all i did was make new shortcuts on the desktop and all perfect. ive realised why when i record with fraps that i always got shocking fps it was because of old HDD now when i use new ssd when ya hit record itll do it at 120 fps lol when all itd do was struggle at 30fps!!!! so definately a bonus as this is my working HDD/SSD now. now i just gotta work out how to move rF2 & pCars to new ssd.

I can tell you on the fraps part the drive makes the difference. Originally i was lucky to get 30fps recording to a differnet drive then my os so there was some 3gbs on a sata 2 7200rpm bottlenecking. Picked up a 6 gps 300gig 10k raptorto use for capturing and i can captures at 60 fps..occasional stutter around 55 depending on just how many cars there are. I'm looking forward to see what the SSD can do when it shows up. Only prob is it not going to be big to capture directly to so i still have to use the 300 gig 10 k raptor drive. Soi'm not sure if it going to help speed it up or not. biggest thing i need is another 16 gig of ram. Board can take 32 gig. So i'm hoping fo rmy upcoming birthday i can get enough donation and newegg gift certs to snag a 32 gig kit from newegg. One i want is the 1866 gskill kit and is about 250.00 so we'll see. If i have to i can settle for the 180.00 1600 kit...Hopefully i can get a second sdd down the road for strickly capturing to..but it needs to be atleast the 256gig one as i usually grap about 200 gig worth of files at one time...

ya main thing i need is 8gb more ram to really smooth it over as recording at 120fps it will have a instant freeze then keep going at 120 but even though counter hasnt changed main thing i find a pain with fraps is length of vid as even recording a 30fps its only 1min 43sec worth of recording. but its cool though i just use Handbrake to shrink it then WMM to put together my basic vids lol

Upgrade to the latest version and cap to NTFS and you should be able to record longer videos. This was on one single capture 2520x525, 30fps

ok bought fraps 3.5.5 ill get plenty of use out of it playing. but ya 11min worth at 1650x1050 @ 60fps is 28gb lol handbrake brings that down to about 2gb.... alot better lol i think if i use 30fps itll half that. but enjoying myself.

I just picked up a Corsair SSD 90gb hard drive. It was normally $105, but got it for $90 with a $25 mail in rebate (net $65). I'm just going to move my racing games over to it and see if it makes much difference.

cool mate nice buy. they do load quick hawks TBH im not sure if they were slow to load on a HDD as i never used one for games. do you record onto a SSD? as it was a stunning difference on mine but my old drive was only 5400rpm and about 7yrs old. my PS3 has a 7200rpm hdd thinking of ssding it aswell

phew..ok moved 900 gig of data around to the space left on 3 of my 2 tb hard drives (1 has 10 gig left other 12 and other 150gig...eesh ), got my main drive down to 100 gig...samsung sent the 256 gig 830 out on friday by courier...so should see it early next week. I'll be doing some time comparision videos for you guys so that you can see the difference (or how much if there is) between it and my 7200 64 mb sata 3gbs hard drive...lets the stopwatches begin! (strangely i have "the heat is on" (from beverly hills cop), song ringing in the back of my brain :
