Guys, I spent hours yesterday with this and I'm just about to say screw it! The graphics look pretty good now and all the mods seem to be working fine. Problem now is I can't seem to get my wheel set up. I don't even know how to describe it but the V8's are completely undrivable for me. I tried Talledega with the VHR mod and 130 is my top speed??? The only thing I seem to be able to halfway control is the Street Stocks. I'm at a loss.

My wheel works good out of the box, so I have no info for you. But Hawks, F1 and Heli are always talking about ways to make it work better, so I'm sure one of them will be happy to help you get yours sorted. Don't give up man, once you get it sorted, it is well worth it.

First check will be to make sure the game is reading the full inputs. Under the Settings section, click on the "Mapping" tab and run through the controls. You should see the wheel inputs as the game is reading it on a display to the left of the screen. Run through the controls for the steering, throttle, brake & clutch (if you are using it). I run all assists off, w/ the exception of auto-clutch. Also check the ReadMe files for the Mods. These files frequently have recommended settings (in game & FFB) for wheel use. I have also found w/ my Fanatec, I HAVE to start the wheel and connect it to the PC before starting rFactor. For whatever reason rF won't recognize the wheel if I start the sim up first. If this doesn't help at all, next step would be to get up w/ one of us on TS this weekend. F1, Seahawks or Wolf are usually better at troubleshooting PC gear. I know just enough to get myself into serious trouble. Maybe we can all run a little group testing session at some point.

Let me know when you are around and we can coordinate to meet up on TeamSpeak and hopefully sort it all out.

Sounds good. I should be around this weekend. Thanks!
I've been through the controls and it shows full steering, throttle, brake, etc. I tried the sensivity settings too.

Oh yeah, and tunes can make a huge impact on the drivability of the cars at certain tracks, exactly how much varies from track to track. Tunes are typically sent out at the practice sessions (and again on race day) for those that are interested. Tony, 'Hawks & myself usually have something to share....though my setups can be a little odd depending on your driving style.

One protip... I don't know about the Fanatecs but with Logitech wheels you must set FF strength to a negative value (probably -100 since you can adjust FF strength on the wheel). If you don't then your brain will have a hard time dealing with the inputs from your hands because they are backwards.

I have the Fanatec PWTS and I also have to set the force feedback to -100% for the V8Factor mod.

During the race/practice, if your steering feels like it wants to keep you from going straight, I believe holding the right shift key plus the #8 on the keypad reverses the setting automatically. 7 and 9 raises and lowers the FFB strength. Easy to adjust on the fly if needed.

Sorry, just checked in here. I think I pretty much have it sorted. Started dropping down the FF and the car became more drivable. I'm going to try the -100 setting and see how that feels. Thanks guys for all the help!!
Has anyone else tried the VHR mod? I still can only get to around 140 on the Talledega speedway, I would think I should at least get to 190.

Messing around with the VHR mod a bit, I could get the Cup car to 161 after running the front ride height all the way up. The car is nosing in almost all the way around the track and bottoming out, That's why you can't get any speed. Might be able to tighten up the suspension and get it off the ground. I also ran the IROC car their and got 170 out of it. But it don't bottom out the whole way.
