So I just came to the realization that I will probably need to install rFactor lite... I think.
I had my original full install of rFactor that had some cars from various series and everything was working great. Then I went and installed the V8's and it wiped everything out. This was unexpected. So I downloaded a copy of rFactor lite thinking that I would be able to install multiple instances, but it turns out that I need a seperate license for it... I think?
Can anyone offer any advice to someone who clearly doesn't know what he is doing?
Thanks, Seb

You don't need separate licenses.
Install as many rF Lite installs as you want... just copy the rFactor.exe from your retail install to each rF Lite folder, overwriting the one that's there.
What I do is keep a clean rF Lite install with my full version rfactor.exe, PLR file, and plugins (Real Feel, G27 LED, etc.). When I want to use a new mod I copy the Lite folder, give it a new name then install the mod to it.

I keep seeing folk say copy the original .exe, I have never done that and yet all my lite installs work perfectly...Puzzled...

Do you have the DVD version or downloaded installer? I wonder if the non-DVD version stores a key on your system somewhere?

I have the download...and that sounds like a plausible explanation.
