Ok going to open up a new thread for the next event in our 4b season. The next event is going to bring the series back into a competitive hard fought battle like we are used to with the V8's. While I'm trying hard to find a good balance of competitiveness and competition along with a sense of the real life action of this type of racing, it IS our normal wednesday night event, just the split venue. So here's what i propose for the next event after taking everyones thoughts into account. It will be a split event with the last place finisher starting off on the pole for the second event...as they do in real life. IF a caution flies, I'd like us to hold position, slow down and try to let those a lap down get back on the lead lap before the leader crosses the line. I understand that the logistics of making this happen aren't perfect and may not go as planned, but i just ask we do our best without major crashes and such. So to reiterate...when a caution is called, slow up hold your postion and try to let a lap car go by before hitting the line. We do run rfactor for the reason that it is a sim racer. And we should utilize the fact that we can have simulatied aspects of racing with a less arcade feel then a console. I'm going to put this series at 25% damage ( instead of 50 due to lengthy pits, and instead of none) A hard enough bonzai move and you will have to suffer 2 minutes in the pits, so keep that in mind. Light contact will just crumble sheet metal but these cars aren't overly aero depandant so they can take it. The server is set to these parameters so if you wish to practice with damage on your are welcomed to. I do suggest getting some practice in, this next event it a tight course, and you will be booted if you elect to ride the outside wall all the way around ..fair warning to those of you who tested it Ok...now lets see those lap times!

What's the gear of choice for this track? I like a gear that keeps it in 4th all the way around, but it has no punch off the corners. So I would like to know what others are doing as far as gearing.

In around the 5:43 range, but i think that might be bit high...I just looked at it quick before heading out the door, now i don't remember if that 3rd or 4th, I know it pegs at the pit road speed in first..(built in pit road speed limiter )

This track looks good at night, Spaz... if you wanted to do a "Saturday Night" race, that is.

Are you going to put the SS server back up for some practice before next week??
Just asking, I know you don't run it when we are doing SPAZCAR, or when your editing.

Some points to consider for Wednesday nights race. This IS a tight , essentially one groove track. These cars have very little grip. a full field of cars will be flying into the turns. Don't even think for a moment that there won't be contact. I'm not saying wreck the guy in front/beside you , but don't get bent out of shape if you get hit or leaned on. Take it with stride. This is about as full contact as you will get without being in a demolition derby. We had a good time a Milwaulkee, this is going to a more intense grittier race...very true to real life and a hell of a lot of excitment. You gotta take stock cars for what they are ...big chunks of metal that you try to throw through a corner as fast as possible...and a hell of a lot of fun in the process....So it's essentially a contact sport without actually saying it is. Race will be reviewed for unsportsman like conduct if it apprent throughout the race. Now having said that , this isn't like the v8's where we pride ourselves on avoiding contact and racing as clean as possible. While we try to replicate that same sense of sportsmanship in the Street Stocks, it is a different kind of racing. Please keep this in mind if plan to attend. I really don't want to hear any complaints about contact unless you feel it was intentional. Cautions will be flying i'm sure...and this track pulls about 6 laps for reset...we'll feel it out , but i'll be cutting them short to help speed the process. Looking forward to an exciting time..try to be on time so we can get the festivities underway...on time

Good points Spaz. I have a question about cautions. Is this the series where we race back to the line when the caution comes out? We need to get that and all the other rules like penalties and when to serve them cleared up before the race. Maybe put together a printed sheet with the important points and read it in a drivers meeting before the race. With all the different series going on, it gets very confusing.
