Practice server is up. From LiveRacers and AutoSim results it appears that the all-time lap record in the V8s here is Stinky's 2:07.048 pole position lap on July 25, 2012. Of note is that Stinky demolished the competition in that race. He qualified 1.4 seconds ahead of 2nd grid place (Boza) and finished the 30-lap race at 29.4 seconds ahead of 2nd place (me), his fastest race lap was 2.1 seconds quicker than the nearest driver (me). Are we going to stand for that again?!?!? I say NO!!!!! We have no official times set on this version of Mount Panorama... all previous results are on RF Bathurst.

I'm going to be pack fodder again, I've yet to make a race here with you guys, and, I'll be honest, I'm scared of the track and 80% damage.

I don't see anyone getting near 2:06 or even 7 on this version. The only tire option is inters, so not quite as much grip as the previous one where we could use softs. At least tire wear will not be an issue this time around.

Ah, I thought rF Bathurst was intermediate-only as well. So, it's time for new records!

I ran a Bathurst race over at Race a while back where only intermediate tires were allowed and their fastest drivers were running 2:08s. I don't expect to be anywhere near that. Hopefully mid pack. I really like the track though, always a good challenge.

Well I'm still unpracticed and looking forward to it as usual. I'll run a bunch of laps before the race time I hope today but just couldn't find the time in a busy week and a bit here. Battle face ready though.

The track is definitely prettier, But my car feels floaty here, like it's not really connected to the track, and no tire grades is a pain in the arse. Plus you can't change gear ratios. went from 2.10:+ from last track to 2.15:+ here. Not sure I really like the track as is, looks better, but at what cost. Damn sure going to be a challenge to finish tonight. Not saying we should switch back, just that I'm not sure the track is right, feels really weird. @hawks, don't forget to load my new skin, when I wreck, I want the video to be right.

I'm currently experiencing technical difficulties after doing the never advised hardware change with little time. I put in a new hdd and can't get my comp to recognize my never change, never messed with boot drive? argh!! I am working on this and will do what I can.

Qualifying will begin at 7:15 PM PST (approx 1 hr 15 min from now). Tonight will be a single, 25 lap race with 1 mandatory, 4 tire pit stop.
Virtual race time will begin at 1:30 in the afternoon and will be x5 time scale, so should end around 7 or 7:30 in the evening (so be sure to have your headlights mapped and ready to turn on once it starts to get dark as you will get disqualified if you don't).
See you at the track shortly.

Apologies to Smokey and anyone else affected by my Lap 1 shenanigans. Work has been on my mind all night and my concentration isn't what it should be. Once I rejoined I was in traffic and losing 6 sec/lap from the pace I wanted so... since I had the enduro tank I pitted early so I would be out-of-sync with the traffic and with enough fuel to finish did the patented F1Fan tire management routine. I also gambled and did not repair my damage so I'd get a 7 second pit stop. I caught and passed Rich when he pitted but as soon as his tires warmed he got by me. Then I caught Helios who made me work for the pass. Given the crappy start and lack of concentration, I'm pleased with 5th. Rich almost handed me a 4th but was able to hang on.
