Tape: More= more front down force and higher air cutting (less drag). But possible over heating. Less= the opposite.
Track bar: I can't say 100%, but it seems to give more rear bite out of corners on slick tracks if you reduce it a little.

they are definately not built for agility but are very agile once you get the feel for them ;D i usually run the grill tape at 25% as ive been bitten in other mods of cooking motor eventually. even after 2 laps at oulton (opening & hot lap) with it at 35% you can see in vid steam starting to come out. its the first time ive ever touched the grill tape in the V8s. as for trackbar i have no idea i use one of stinkys old setups and just play with Rear DF, Diff & Camber

I typically run with little to no rear ARB. Soften the springs and lower the tire pressure a little (make sure you are running softs). Then mess with the grille tape and rear wing to your liking. I try to keep the changes I make fairly minor until the car starts to feel a bit more balanced. Too easy to screw it up completely when trying to mess with several things at once.

didnt even check the tire compound or diffs lol i thought v8s had a locked diff? Cheers guys ill see what i can come up with later today! the other thing ive noticed in live racers is that in every mod weve run my top speed avg. is always 5-10 mph slower than the avg. racers? anyone know who thats calculated? I must be missing something in my tuning? i run stiffer springs, low downforce and tune my gears to almost redline at the end of the longest straight....might have to do with early breaking? been having troubles with my brake pedal locking to early....hopefully the csp arriving soon will help out my times

LR max speed is I think simple the max speed of all your laps (I don't think it's the top speed of the fastest lap). If you're on a low downforce setup and consistently slower than the other cars then you're either not getting the corner exit speed onto the straight or you're braking too early at the end of the straight. What you can't tell is if those LR top speeds were achieved with drafting. The next time you see me on the practice server jump in and we'll do some follow-the-leader (or ask one of the usual top qualifiers to lead you around). You're certainly fast in the other cars so it may be as simple as learning where the limits of this beast are. from my few attempted laps so far out of the box they understeer in high speed turns and oversteer on exit..... Yeah, that's pretty well spot on. Big engine, undertired and suspension from farm equipment. The rear suspension on these cars uses a live axle and was designed based on an idea from the 1780s (Watt's Linkage). Bascially you do your braking in a straight line, turn in and feed the throttle back in carefully. Use traction control if it helps. I did for the entire 1st season. I must be missing something in my tuning? i run stiffer springs, low downforce I run this car with fairly soft springs and usually with the rear ARB disconnected. Oversteer/understeer, I always adjust with teh front ARB. A tip: you should be able to use the curbs at most tracks we run... if you're getting up on two wheels or losing control your springs and/or shocks are too stiff. Other things to try: adjust toe-in by 0.10 degree either way and test. Fine tuning the toe to your driving style can make a big difference in turn-in.

Just don't follow my lead! Aggressive toe-out, spot the curb, toss the car at the curb and let the baby hop the curb onto the straight.....hopefully pointed the right way. ;D I've been known to bicycle these things.

Several of us are running a 90 min enduro at Race2Play tonight and there's also a GBR BMW race... so that may affect attendance on the V8 server.

Well all things are pointing to a return to the track tonight, practice not withstanding I'm excited to get back into it, work's been crazy and I'll just have to get a race when the chance comes up and get serious again in the spring when the freeze is over here in Alberta.
I'll be on early to try to figure this track out and get all my settings sorted out since my hard drive debacle. Hopefully technically I've got now hiccups and it will be all user error in my way on the track!

I would advise getting on the track as early as you possibly can because it has plenty to figure out. Curbs, elevation changes, and off camber corners really get your attention. And once we get over 20 cars out there, it is really going to get interesting.

***Late breaking news*** Repsol has decided to pull back on sponsorship funding of the DJR Ford Falcon to focus on MotoGP competition. After last minute discussions w/ BasherBoards & Wright Tools, the decision to move up the time table was reached. Look for the new DJR #135 BasherBoards/Wright Tools Ford Falcon to make it's 2013 debut at Oulton Park.
