www.simraceway.com/i don't know if anyone come across this or not but its seems pretty damn cool. i raced on it for about 3 or so hours tonight and had a lot of fun. its like Iracing meet rFactor. its got very simulator graphics as IRacing and the controls of rFactor it was very easy to set up and i got 3 cars. plus a Formula 3 and 20 tracks. i just signed up on the open Beta and that was it... they've got a ton of cars, street cars and racing cars. its almost like Forza 5 with the cars the list are very simulator, except the F1 cars. the cars due cost money or Cr. and they range from from 50 cent to up to about $18 bucks so that put is kinda iRacing. and a plus there was an open chats room and everyone was being nice and helping out. and that something i haven't seen at Iracing lol! so if your looking for something. check it out www.simraceway.com/

I tried it and bought about $20 in stuff. But, I had difficultly finding online races that I could participate in. Sent from my HTC One X using proboards

I have it as well and have enjoyed it so far. It was one of the reasons I went ahead and got into iRacing as the pay to play model wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I will be adding a feed for Simraceway events to my website and will also update here as well.

I personally can't stand the "pay as you play" model. Seems to be the way a lot of these sims are going though (Iracing, Simraceway and Raceroom Experience). I would rather buy the game up front with all of the content, but I guess I'm just old school.
rFactor has really spoiled me with all the free mods and seemingly endless content. Or maybe I'm just being a cheap bastard.

Our GBR iRacing slush fund has plenty of $$$ in it and so there is no need to worry about a lack of funds. I just got my $10 official race series participation bonus. There is no content left for me to buy and thus we are good to go.

Most of them are finding ways to charge you more than $40 or $60. The best deal on my PC right now is F1 2012, which cost me $25 on sale from Steam. But that sim is also available on consoles, where they probably realize their profit. rFactor is great, but its hard for me to understand how ISI and the mod developers can make any $$$. That economic model seems doomed.

likely keep a very small shop problem is when things get big, like say EA and everyone wants a piece of the pie then you have to sell multi-millions of copies at premium prices to just break even

Remember ISI have a pro sim used by F1 teams, wanna take a guess at the kind of cash floating around that pond? They seem to take a long view, keeping updating the one sim rather than a long list of "new" games. This is cheaper as you have no need for massive advertising, lets face it Rf1 is still selling to the point it was worth updating it for Win 8.
Strangely they have also said publicly that money is not their primary motivation, and that is refreshing in this day and age.

It sounds like their primary gravy train is not rFactor. Of course, rFactor 2 is being handled differently, is it not? Like many of you, I already paid $40-$50, with no release date in sight. Did they do the same kind of thing with rFactor 1?
