I do feel like the money each of us have spent on this hobby is a good deal compared to other hobbies. My hunting buddies occasionally fill me in on their hunting equipment and gear, and it makes us look downright thrifty. Skiing is another hobby with much greater cost than sim racing. I hear you there. My car projects aren't cheap.... And I've been eyeballing bikes for shits & giggles. Those are going to be horrendously expensive if I do ever pull the trigger. Colnago, Pinarello, Cervelo, Eddy Merckx..... Dale knows exactly what I'm talking about. If you aren't in the road bike scene at all, none of the above probably means anything. ;D Truthfully I really don't need a new bike, as I've already got a pretty awesome one, albeit a tad old (2002 Trek 5200). Damn Helios, that is so wild. I ride a 2002 Trek 5200 which I bought in 2002 after my Kestrel Talon was stolen. It now has over 13,000 miles on it. I sometimes think about getting a new bike also, but just can't justify it for the amount of riding I do now. Plus it has always been stored inside and I do all maintenance myself to keep it running perfectly all the time. I replaced all the cables last year. I used to ride 3-5000 miles a year, but lately I only average between 1-2000. If I ever do get a new bike, I want a Seven. I do need a new mountain bike though. The technology has really advanced there. My MTB still has V brakes and 26" tires. I would like to get a 29er.

I spent more time with simraceway over the weekend. So far, I was only able to find races against other guys using the free Lancer and the cheap Renault. Am I missing something, are there better times to get on there and find some racing action? I have now dropped $40, yet its still hard to get into an "event" that doesn't require an additional purchase. They seem to do events that only involve cars I don't have. Overall, I love the force feedback and physics of this game. The cars drive great.

I don't expect to put much time into it. It was kind of fun to race the Lancer around Phoenix Raceway.

I like to do the Events. These are (usually?) just you against the clock (lap time) or a ghost. I like to download and race against the ghosts. Doing a few laps like this I find is a nice diversion, my Forza ;D
