Hey guys, we will start the iRacing oval series this Thursday, January 17 beginning at 7:30 p.m. PST. We will run the National car at Charlotte. We will start with a 20 minute warm up, 5 minute, 4 lap qualifying and a 35 minute race.
This series will run on the third Thursday of the month at 7:30 p.m. PST. It will take no more than an hour.
I hope to see you iRacing oval lovers out there. Thanks!

I bought the National and plan to be there! Is tuning open or do you run a fixed setup?

I bought the National and plan to be there! Is tuning open or do you run a fixed setup? Darin Gangi asked the same question when I PM'd him last night with an invite. What would you guys prefer? If we are going to do an open set up, lets make sure we share it amongst one another.

I guess since it is an oval, I would prefer just to run the fixed setup.

Yeah, fixed setups for all oval races is my preference. I can't (and don't have time to learn how) tune these things.

I am fine with fixed set ups but keep in mind that even if we allow open set ups, the fixed set ups are still available. I also would require the sharing of open set ups, like Helios did for us with the Cadillac. iRacing makes it very easy to share set ups. I do not want to make these oval races into a contest about who can best tune a car, ala Forza 4 lobby racing.

I've got a SK Modified set for Thompson.... ;D Guess that won't help much here though.

are ya using base content? Charlotte is base content but the National car must be purchased. My sense is that lots of guys already have it and running Charlotte oval with the street stock car would not be as much fun. The National car is used in the Class D oval event that many guys run as they are leveling up.
