I had 3 good races in the IndyCar. 1st one last night at 10pm eastern. I was in the first split and on the pole. It is nearly impossible to pass on that track so I led 65 of 65 laps and won the race. Got 130 championship points which puts me way out on front in the standings for my division.
2nd race at midnight eastern. Qualified 2nd finished 3rd. Another driver had better restarts than me so he passed me after one of the cautions.
3rd race today at 2pm eastern. Qualified 2nd and finished 2nd. Getting better on restarts. And the best part about todays race was the +79 iRating bump which pushed me over the 2000 threshold. I'm now sitting at 2026 which should keep me in the top splits for the IndyCar races the rest of the season as long as I don't screw it up.

Well done Troy. It looks like the new rig has not taken anything away from your on track performance.
I had a great race this morning in the 3rd race of the iRacing NASCAR series. I got 4th out of 30+ cars in my split, which is my second straight top 5 finish. It was a wreckfest, Rockingham + Sprint Cup car = 12 cautions, but I managed to avoid trouble. I finished one lap down because I had to take a leak and so I extended one of my pit stops. Maybe I need to wear Depends for the rest of my races???

Nice one Craig. Very nice bump to your iRating there. I think I will be running some truck races this week. I figured out the track and have a decent qual time which should start me near the front. Plus with my iRating, I should be in one of the upper splits so hopefully away from most of the jerks. I am finding these truck races can be a lot of fun, but there are also plenty of jerks that run in them. I have had a run in with a few guys, so I put them on my studied list so I can keep track of them. Now before I race, I can see what they are doing and avoid them if I want. I can also check their iRating and qual times to get an idea if they would be in the same split as me and where on the grid they would be in relation to me. You can get a lot of information in iRacing if you know where to look for it.

I found something out about iRacing today. Hi iRating does not equal good driver. I have been doing ok in my oval races lately and my iRating is now in the 2100s. So I ran a truck race today and I was number 17 of 17 in the 1st of 4 splits. I was racing with guys who have iRatings in the 2000s up to 5000s. There were knuckleheads there just like in the lower splits. I have a theory that for some people, high iRating equals aggressive driver that will do anything to win. And there was plenty of aggression to go around.
I try to race clean all the time. I will give room when someone is beside me and not try to block when someone gets a run on me. But these guys were balls to the wall all the time. I started in 7th and during the race I fell back as far as 15th. But the aggression got the better of them and I kept moving up through attrition as they took each other out. I ran a clean race, finished 9th and still got a +29 bump to my iRating. I did have one incident where I had to go off track to avoid a wreck on the last lap coming out of the last turn, but it is much better then the 4x I would have got for hitting the car.

Had a great race in the IndyCar last night after my horrible showing in Spazcar. Race was at Iowa. I was on the pole in the top split. Iowa is a very good track for IndyCars. You can run multiple lines to get around the track. The fastest line is to run high on the straights and turn in late on the corners, but when you do that, you will get other cars dive-bombing the inside line and run you up the track. I was able to get good starts and keep the pack behind me for at least 10 laps before I had to alter my line. There were 3 cautions in the first 25 laps so I was able to hold the lead. Then we finally got about a 20 lap green flag run and the pack caught me and I had to start racing. I fell as far back as 4th, but was always right there with the leaders. Then about lap 45 there was a big wreck right in front of me. I barely avoided the wreck, but still got a 4x out of it. My car was ok though and I was back in 1st place. Got a really good start after the caution and was up to a 1 second lead on the pack so I was able to run the optimal line and maintain it for a long time. They were slowly catching up and probably would have caught me with a few laps to go, but then we got another caution about lap 67 and I finished 1st under yellow. I led 63 of 70 laps and got a nice iRating bump to get me back over 2200. members.iracing.com/membersite/member/EventResult.do?&subsessionid=7902145&custid=111813

This is the fourth week of the NASCAR iRacing series, and this week's track is Martinsville. 250 laps. I had some trepidation coming into the week, but I made sure that I got lots of practice in, both in practice sessions, but also in Class A Fixed races that I did during the week. Yesterday was the race and I got 10th out of a 30+ car split. I would have done better, but around lap 80 I got into trouble and hit a spinning car. That cost me 4 minutes of optional damage repair, which I did of course repair entirely, but in the process I went down several laps. I made some if it up, but not enough to threaten for a top 5 position.
Martinsville has emerged as one of my favorite tracks. Love driving the Gen6 car there. Yes, there are some lousy drivers, but those guys usually wreck out or otherwise leave the race pretty early.
Out of four NASCAR iRacing races, I have gotten top 5 finishes in two of them, and top 10 finishes in three of them. That has been enough to put me at 29th in my division out of 149 drivers.
Next week is Texas!!!!

Great job Craig. Takes a lot of nerve and concentration to run 250 laps at Martinsville, and you say the IndyCars are scary? I have stayed away from all the NASCAR series this week. Too short of tracks that really mess up my SR and iRating.
I'm doing good in IndyCar and want to keep my iRating up so I can stay in the top splits. Better racing there. I had a really good qual time this week so I have started on the pole in 5 of 6 races I entered. I was 2nd in that one. I just won another race tonight. It was a great race with some good battling up front. I started on the pole and never fell below 2nd. I was side by side just barely ahead of the second place driver on lap 68 of 70 when a caution came out which gave me the win.
I am still 1st place in my division of 439 drivers. 2nd place is 76 points back, so it will be very difficult for him to catch me. We are now in the drop week part of the series. I had a few bad weeks early on which should be dropped in the next few weeks.

This week we are at Texas for the NASCAR iRacing series. 167 laps. I just finished and got 7th. I could have gotten a top 5, but on the last lap, lap 167, the guy in front of me spun and I failed to brake in time. I still got a nice finish, 52 iRating points and an SR bump of .03, despite getting totally destroyed. I was so hopeful that I would go incident free for the whole 167 laps, and I came up 1/2 lap short.
Oh well, it was overall a positive, fun race. The guy that caused the wreck is a great guy, not a dumbshit, and so I cannot complain about it.

Disappointing race today in the NASCAR iRacing series. 200 laps at Iowa. I just am not fast at this track and so I only got 16th in one of the middle splits. On the other hand, I did go incident free and so I got a nice .42 SR bump.
Richmond is next.
