WED 2013/03/06 - rFactor 2, Vettes and Mid-Ohio

This event is a combination Exhibition Race and test of the new hosting functionality in rF2.

REQUIRED CONTENT:

PROCEDURE:

The server is up for Practice. Please have the above content installed before connecting for the first time. Because the Vette is not part of a Mod I created a VMod for this race.

When you select the server you will need to hit GET MOD before launching. You are just downloading a little 1 MB file that specifies the content required. I *am not* testing real time content download at this point therefore you need the car and track installed. Any questions? Post in this thread.

RACE CONDITIONS:

Server: GBR - rF2 Corvette test (you'll find our servers super-fast if you put GBR in the Filter dialog)
Password: same as my V8 practice server

Track: Mid-Ohio w/ Chicane

Time: The usual times. 7:15 quali, 7:30 race. Please test your content and the VMOD prior to arriving.

Length: 20 laps, tentative.

Weather: Day, dry, variable clouds. Temperature will drop when the clouds roll in.

Realroad: Enabled, 20 laps or 10 cars have laid down a nice line.

Tune: Open.

Custom skins: Jeff and I will be running test custom skins. These will not be available for download prior to the race. I want to test rF2's automatic skin downloading.

Flags: Black flag rules in effect. Blue flags are active and should not penalize if you ignore them.

Fuel: 1x

Tires: 1x

Other instructions: Have fun! This is new to many of us so we may discover glitches with the track or the sim. I recommend that you test offline with 10 AI and adjust your graphics level accordingly.

Sorry that's a typo (the server screen says 145 but the game version is 146). So, yes... Build 146.

I am having problems with my RF2. Hopefully I can get it figured out in time for this event.
I have everything up to date and installed but some things aren't showing up.

1) Do you have the track properly installed? That is, can you run it offline?

2) Does Mod Manager show that you have v 1.91 of the track?

but I think it was 1.9 not entirely sure ill give it a check

So, in a way the VMod approach works. Instead of showing up on race night thinking you have the track and being booted for a mismatch, you've "pre-checked" your content and know something isn't right.

The track is still in beta, in fact that is true of most of them...Gonna be a while till things settle down.

Just jumped onto the server. Get Mod worked fine and I ran a few trouble free laps. Looking good :-)

on another front guys with Fanatec wheels what FFB etc do you use in game as ive got wheel on 100 but had to turn FFB in game up to about 4.00 to get some decent resistance

Always have wheel at 100, and just raise or lower in game to taste. It's very individual I tend to leave it how the game sets it up for the car, as each car is different.

ive never seen it change in game it just leaves it a 1.00 also the FFB smoothing should it be used with Fanatec? or is it mainly for non belt driven wheels?
