WED 2013/03/20 - rFactor 2 Masters @ Portugal

This event is a combination Exhibition Race and test of the new hosting functionality in rF2.

REQUIRED CONTENT:

ISI Formula Masters 1.0: rfactor.net/web/rf2/rf2dl/

Track: Portugal (I'm not sure what pack it comes in... GT Endurance maybe)

rFactor 2: Build 156 rfactor.net/web/rf2/rf2dl/

PROCEDURE:

When you select the server you will need to hit GET MOD before launching. You are just downloading a little 1 MB file that specifies the content required. I *am not* testing real time content download at this point therefore you need the car and track installed. Any questions? Post in this thread.

RACE CONDITIONS:

Server: GBR - rF2 Exhibition (you'll find our servers super-fast if you put GBR in the Filter dialog)

Password: same as my V8 practice server

Track: Portugal

Time: The usual times. 7:15 quali, 7:30 race. Please test your content and the VMOD prior to arriving.

Length: 15 laps.

Pits: your choice

Tires: your choice

Tune: Open.

Weather: Day, dry, variable clouds. Temperature will drop when the clouds roll in.

Realroad: Enabled, no pre-rubbered line other than the default.

Flags: Black flag rules in effect. Blue flags are active and should not penalize if you ignore them.

Fuel: 1x

Tires: 1x

Timing: gonebrokeracing.liveracers.info/Live/?server=GBR%20-%20rF2%20Corvette%20test

Other instructions: Have fun! This is new to many of us so we may discover glitches with the track or the sim. I recommend that you test offline with 10 AI and adjust your graphics level accordingly.

Heads up, it started to rain and we were not able to instal rain tires, even though wets were selected slicks were still fitted. Man did that look cool but not drivable with slicks obviously,lol.

Thanks, glad we found this out now,lol. So one night to fine tune tonight, what are the race details ? Do we need to use two different compounds, how many laps etc..?

What was weired last night when Harper and I were trying to figure out the rain tire deal was that if I left the server and came back in visually my tires had tread, maybe inter's but had some tread. On track they didn't feel any different then the slicks.

Tested coming in for a pit stop to see if it would change to wets, even though selected for tires come out of pits with slicks and like driving on ice. Very hard to even make a lap with out spinning off track several times.

So I guess something that needs to be fixed, updated, implimented, not sure what the deal is. But the rain effect on track is very cool!

Forgot to mention, server is set for 50% damage. I'm coming into this with almost no practice other than what I can do after work tomorrow. I expect to get lapped by the TUM train.

Guys could you give me the heads up via PM about any issues that you may come across, particularly F1 and any hosting issues.
