Depends, F1 lol. Looks like they are looking for that open server to fool around in. If I run mine it will be for a series or exhibitions. If anyone wants to test it it is called GBR - Historix Test (standard password) and it has the Silverstone track that we've must have run since it was on my system (link below if you don't have it). I only added the Minis for this test. If people could see it and get in I can setup an exhibition race to really test it out. Track if you don't have it

I think we want to keep it open ended for now, until Snappy gets his bearings. Sent from my HTC One X using proboards OK, I'll turn mine off after I know someone can get in. Someone please try. I just want to see if I did it right.

I tried it Zed, but got a mismatch. What version of the mod are you running? I have 1.95.

Ok well I'll keep the server in mind if we ever end up needing it. I didn't realize so many people were already hosting servers

I must have an old version. Dale confirmed he got in. I am shutting it off. I don't really want to do the open free for all. Once I play with it a little I'll post what I'd like to run and see if there is interest.

I really like the cars in the "Real Series" section. The ones in the "24 hr Le Mans 1982". Nice selection of cars in there.

Guys, keep me updated. I am interested in spending more time with the Historix mod. I will take what I can get.
If its possible, possibly for me or F1 to do it, I would love to see a 24 hour GBR server with the Historix mod, including all of the cars, and at least some of the Historix recommended tracks. I know Snappy and I would make good use of it, and I am sure there is other interest. It would allow us to do pick up races, ala Forza 3 and 4, with the best collection of classic cars in rFactor land. I have a laptop that is 4 1/2 years old that will probably work for this. I might try setting it up this weekend.

I almost have everything on my server. Because of the need for a CD check during the mod install I had to work around that and zip up the entire active folder from my desktop and upload that.

Cool, what is the name of the server you have set up F1?

It won't be active until late tonight but likely "GBR - HistorX" or something obvious like that.

I'm very partial towards the Cuda and Challenger. My 2 cents.

GBR - HistorX is up for you guys to play with until someone else steps in and is willing to maintain a larger track pack. Password is the same as for my practice server. The server should allow all cars. If not, let me know. There are many car classes and one called "ALL" which is what I picked. Tracks are Zandvoort '67 and Bathurst 2006. Most GBR members will already have these. For those that don't: Zandvoort '67: www.box.com/s/2yos4mlw2a4v72pl5dl0Bathurst 2005 and 2006: www.box.com/s/sepazw41xd062ixla6sjUse the in-game voting to advance tracks, change sessions, etc.

Thanks F1. I intend to play around with the laptop this weekend and see whether I can use it as a server. If it works, I intend to stock it with the Historix recommended tracks and all cars. I did not see the server download at the historix website. Can you point me to it? Also, where do I find the rFactor server software?
