If I put in 1 more lap worth of fuel, I could've made it on 1 stop! Coming up on 4 minutes to go, it became apparent I was in fact going to be short on fuel. Tony had been closing the gap, and was down to only 5 seconds behind, when he ended up having to pit for a splash as well. So then the question...take tires or not? With the way Tony was closing, I opted throw a fresh set of softs on for the final 2 lap sprint to the finish. Turns out it was the right decision, as Tony threw on a fresh set of softs as well. Had one hell of a battle for the last lap and half. I was able to hold him off, even though I was still braking at my brake points for inters. Had a blast. Thanks everyone for coming out. Good to see the new guys out there getting a feel for things. Hope you all had fun.

Sorry I missed it guys, I will catch the next one. It's been about 43 hours since I last raced. I am getting substantial withdrawal sweats and headaches. I believe the antidote is some Historix tonight. LOL! Sent from my HTC One X using proboards

I had a great time last night. The only real lowlight was when I spun entering the high bank. I was down low and pulled the car up the banking to get out of the way at the same time Custom wnted the high line, he hit me square in the rear and must have destoyed his car. Sorry Custom. Looking forward to this series. Thanks for hosting guys.

Congrats to Fantomaso and Jeff as well for your finishes. Mine was gifted. Dale you have no luck. You disco'd in the rF2 event as well, in F1 cars no less!!
Tip of the hat goes to Neverend just for the simple fact - your first race was a monster and you finished. Congrats!
Didn't have any real side by side position swaps this time. Just got strung out and let pitting take its course. I ran soft tires and couldn't get over 12 laps out of them... bummer which reminds me, I literally slid into maybe Von or someone under braking and felt like a real idiot. sorry for that, the tires went off and I felt no feedback in the wheel. just freaked me out especially this happened after smokey started talking again about losing it earlier... I don't know maybe i lost mine too for just a split sec. thank god i didn't, I would not have been able to race with out it.
Thanks again for letting me race fellas. Cheers

Congrats to Fantomaso and Jeff as well for your finishes. Mine was gifted. Dale you have no luck. You disco'd in the rF2 event as well, in F1 cars no less!! I suppose it was gifted to me earlier as both Hawks and Smokey were struggling with lack of FF. I think regardless of that I may have passed them. I changed pit strategy mid-way through the race. I was able to get more laps out of the tires at race pace than I thought. Unfortunately, I miscalculated my fuel for the new strategy and had to do a splash with 20 minutes to go. Since I was pitting I took tires (this mod does 4 tires in 9 seconds so it's worth the short stop to then be making up 1-2 seconds a lap). That meant I was on perfect warm tires for the closing stages of the race and catching the two ahead of me. Yeah... my PC has had issues lately and I finally sorted them out (it was an incompatibility between GPU monitoring software and video drivers). What's getting me now is the normal random crashing. I've gotten pretty proficient at analysing crashes and last night's rFactor crash was a type that has never happened to me before. Both recent discos were the result (I believe) of messing with GID updates just before race time. I'm reverting back to the previous version. I run a lot of longer races... you just happened to be at the only two I've DNFed in a few weeks. Oh well, as long as it doesn't happen 5 minutes from the end of the efnet enduro on Sunday I'll be happy. I have got my car dialled in and am looking forward to scrapping for positions.

For me last night was a crash course (no pun intended) for me with rfactor. I have never been great with RWD cars but forcing myself into a race with the V8's has helped me quite a bit. I was keeping an eye on my tire temps but didn't know until the race was just about over how to tell if they needed to be changed. Hawks and Smok3Y I think were talking about the colors so now I know what the colors next to the tire temps mean. Really other than that I was feeling pretty good, until the end of the race. I was just tired and started missing my braking points. I parked it at Turn 2 because I noticed many of the leaders were coming up so that is why the rookie was just hanging out, to let you guys get buy without incident. Now to convince the wife staying up late on a school night(she is a teacher) is ok. Hopefully the V8 series doesn't run as late as last night. All in all I had a great time and a nice learning experience. Also thanks again for all the kind words and help.

Nope, last night was longer than normal. We are usually wrapped up by 8:30pm PDT.

tbh neverender that is the first time ive even checked them out of like 30 races if I don't know it wont hurt me lol I don't even know what the colours mean I just presumed red would mean they are fooked you really need a basic setup you like & just tweak it per track and minimum tweak really as you get used to what the cars gonna do. I could prob get faster if I really intricate tweaked it more but meh too much effort lol

That shouldn't bother the wife 1 night a week every other week.

I know, at first it was just me vs. the AI. Then I found the guys at 2old2race and now its every saturday afternoon, now it is spreading to a weeknight. It is a slippery slope. I added a second monitor and that hasn't gone over very well, so when I eventually add another monitor, she is going to hate it even more.

At least with you at home racing, she doesn't have to worry about you chasing the "scenery" at a bar. Haha.
